Anyone understand the recent discounts?

IRS EV Clean Vehicle Credit $7,500

Retail Bonus Cash $7,500 Cash Back (Program #11170)

Simple enough. Here is where my confusion starts:

$7,500 and 1.9% APR on select Ford models
Retail Bonus Cash (11170)
and
$7,500 Cash back

As I read that it appears to suggest a total of $15,000 cash back.

Well my dealer has about 5 platinums (not eligible for $7500 EV credit ) for $18k off.
If a platinum had a lot more to offer than my lariat I would try to make it work but since they deleted most everything that makes a platinum a platinum I’ll hold tight and see what 25’ brings.
But anyone who is waiting for a 24’ even if you put down $$ I would run and buy a 23’

I'm still a bit confused by the de-contending choices. So at this point the Platinum gets "accents" and 22' wheels over an optioned Lariat? Seems like a waste of a trim.

I was also out today checking out Lighting. With the 15K discount is there any haggle room left with the dealers to try to get lower MSRP?

I had no luck haggling on the price earlier this week, but was able to haggle a little on my trade in value and the amount of the rebate. Heads up, they want to charge full MSRP, then taxes apply, then the rebates. So when you purchase, you pay the taxes on the full MSRP before rebates and trade in value kicks in.

Some dealerships don't let the buyers know of all the credits possible - buyer beware & take care.

Ford and dealers have been relying on the point of sale ev tax credit to clearance them out. Make the dealers work for it by negotiating off msrp and still applying tax credit plus rebates. Pro didn’t get any rebates so I’ll let those trim levels sit longer to see if they offer a rebate next month. All Lightnings should be at 0% 5 yr terms at this point as well but the best they have is 3.9%. I’ll let them blink first.

Basically. They get B&O unleashed as well - so with 22” - less range and more speakers / better leather seats but I think that’s it

I was at a dealer today in Northern Virginia near I-95 that had supplemental window stickers showing a $10K market adjustment O two of the Lightnings that I saw even though the website shows discounts and no market adjustments. Ugh!

$10k adjustment up on a '23? That is insane - buy elsewhere and have it shipped.
PS - I used to live in Gainesville and work in Arlington - so I know that I-66 corridor well - fun to live there for 2 years 3 months federal government.

Those stickers have probably been on the truck as long as they have been sitting. The online price is most likely accurate.

Thank you everyone for your input. I ended up buying a 2023 XLT XR. Got the -$7,500 IRS EV, -$500 Farm Bureau, and -$7,500 Cash back. Apparently the other program referenced -$7,500 Cash back and low rate financing. Couldn’t take both. I love the truck.
