Edit - the work around now for me is to keep the cruise button on - used to be able to thumb it off as a way to slow down & then on to reengage without the lane centering coming on - so now I just leave the cruise button on all the time and brake then toggle the "set" arrow up to take the speed back up - bypasses the lane centering invoking - must have been a recent OTA changed things.

Thank you in advance for assistance: Just got my '23 Lightning Lariat back after a CSP & other tweaks including to BlueCruise.

Now on the steering wheel when I thumb press the cruise control button - the lane centering button also somehow activates so I have to manually press that button to turn lane centering off every time. OTA's service states are all up to date.

I've tried all settings on the touchscreen related to cruise - adaptive cruise & BlueCruise. I simply want the default to NOT be lane centering when the cruise button is tapped - means I have to look down and tap the lane centering to off every time.

This after I was used to driving/cruising with just a left thumb feeling its way to keep me at the speed limit since speed recognition adeptness is another issue. Thank you.

This was brought up in the ICE forums too. There is a Forscan section that may disable it but I haven’t tried.

Does that forum mention a software OTA coming to fix it - it seems to suggest that?

Thank you/wary of Forscan myself to void the warranty or get dealer service non-performance - the work around now for me is to keep the cruise button on - used to be able to thumb it off as a way to slow down & then on to reengage without the lane centering coming on

So I'm guessing you've already tried this?

Thank you/yes I tried all that + the onscreen tips - the work around now for me is to keep the cruise button on - used to be able to thumb it off as a way to slow down & then on to reengage without the pesky land centering coming on - so now I just leave the cruise button on all the time and brake then toggle the "set" arrow up to take the speed back up - bypasses the lane centering invoking - must have been a recent OTA changed things - c'est la vie.

Why do you dislike the lane centring? I find it works good.

No - don't dislike - just drive 25-50 mph around town 500 miles/month over streets with a lot of manhole covers/potholes - and to avoid such - that takes manual steering + BlueCruise fails quite often to perform well & FMC has buybacks due to that.

I've not found any reason to ever turn cruise OFF using the off button ever. I turn it on once, and it stays on for the entire trip.
  • Use the brake or the cancel/resume button to temporarily cancel the cruise control, which will not change any speed or lane keep settings.
  • Use the cancel/resume button to resume the previously set speed and lane keep settings OR
  • Use the speed up/down buttons to resume at the current speed instead of the previously set speed.

Hi there, Jon! Go ahead and send us a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer, and I’ll look into this cruise button concern. Thanks!

Yes - thank you that is what we've been commenting on - the fairly new software change - is the default lane centering invokes when cruise is turned on - so the lane center button needs to be turned off each trip for those who prefer it off - apparently a fix is coming per FMC.

Please just let us know if a fix is in the works for a future update or if FMC plans to leave it as is?
