It's not needed. The update is only for plug and charge. Someone already charged today with the A2Z adapter and without this update.
Without the update, you needed the update to the Tesla app that allowed you to “Charge your Non-Tesla” vehicle at a Super Charger that was not a Magic Dock equipped stall. So while you are technically correct, software updates were still required, you’re just moving it from Ford to Tesla’s app.

I’m a little pissed off I don’t use Facebook or X so I never saw the press release from Jim Farley and because the news was released early all of you on the east coast got a jump on all of us on the west coast. I placed my order at about 10:00 AM PT and I’m #18022, looking at a June delivery date. I guess the east coast Tesla owners will feel the flood of Ford owners before all the west coast Tesla owners.

I placed my order at about 10:00 AM PT and I’m #18022, looking at a June delivery date. I guess the east coast Tesla owners will feel the flood of Ford owners before all the west coast Tesla owners.
yea, but you will get to hear all of the stories of fights and Tesla owner's blocking Fords once these things start rolling out...

They've already started. In the Out of spec video they brought a Cybertruck out and the engineer didn't want to talk to Kyle :ROFLMAO:

This is a V2 location, Notice only 150kw available, V3's will show 250KW and the Tesla website has new Icons showing a NACS plug and description will read " This Supercharger is Open to Tesla and NACS Enabled Vehicles with CCS Compatibility "

Agree - @TaxmanHog did you get to keep the adapter you were using? Kyle noted his was a prototype. So I guess the production line is still ramping up.

I’ve noticed that peak Supercharger use is typically 3:30 pm -6:00 pm in the Seattle Tacoma area (EA chargers near one site). Later at night, not much of an issue. The EA sites are narrow & wonky access occasionally. The LT doesn't shrink down well. Tesla indicated “longer cords coming”.

Well I missed that by an hour this morning 🥺 but had mine ordered by 7:00 #4622. But still shows May. 🤷‍♂️ 😭

But I don’t know what good this is as Tesla app only shows four available charge points writhing 300-600 moles of each other out of five states radius, But again I don’t make any long trips but it was a good smoke and mirrors between Tesla and Ford to make this merger. Maybe it’s for the East and West, Central you are on your own?!
You need to select the filter to the right - "Superchargers open to NACS".
