how do you guys precondition for an unexpected use? In other words, if I want to use the truck for an unplanned trip to town, how do I precondition it? Is there a "precondition now" button?

Nope! You have to schedule it. It can be as short as 30mins. That seems to be about what it takes.

You don't. There isn't. And, it is unnecessary.

Preconditioning via a departure time is good when you need the range gain. On a short trip of 20 or so miles or less, it isn't cost effective. It can take 80 minutes.

As posted on another thread…

If at home the simplest way to heat the battery before an unplanned trip is give it a quick charge right before leaving. You’d be amazed what a 5% to 10% charge will do to warm the battery. Especially the FCSP 80amp. Many times on a random weekend errand run I’ll just throw some electrons into it to warm it up quick.

I would just leave the truck plugged in and remote start it. When it's plugged into lvl2 it should keep the battery warm enough.

That’s not going to be at the 61f precondition temp though, that is a much lower minimum temp

Doesn't remote start and letting it warm up for 10 min also work the same for pre-conditioning? So essentially there is a way to do it whenever?

Warms cabin only, not the battery.

Ford needs to enter the 20th century and have a “precondition now” button like Tesla. How many times do we need to remind Ford that Tesla is their competition?

Probably 3 dozen posts about this over the past 2 years.

The truck has existed for 2 years now. Everything you can think of adding has been thought of, and pointed out, to Ford for years. Some we got, some we'll get, some we'll never get.

Use the Feedback app in the truck.
