I just finished mine this weekend, thanks to @JHForman812 for the harness and everyone else for the helpful pictures! The cup holder was pretty easy, but I have the 15" screen and wasn't able to easily pull the media bin. Reaching those two screws holding in the forward part of the bin would have required me to pull the entire dash apart. Instead, I took the 4 bolts out of the gear shifter and set that to the side. Three bolts are visible, the last is under the rubber mat in the bin that the shifter lays down in when using the work surface. This gave me easy access to the hole for the media bin light and eliminated the need to pull apart the dash. I was able to do the cup holder, media light and glove box light in less than an hour this way, so a pretty simple and straight forward install. Thanks for all the help!

Has anyone done a 2023 Lightning yet? I just started poking around in mine, and saw that it does have the glove box light cutout, however I don't think it has the media bin cutout

So it seems like I'd either need to do surgery on my media bin, or get a 2022 part? Looking at the ICE forum, the part # for the media bin with wireless charging is ML3Z-1513594-AA - doesn't seem too expensive but from other posts it seems like you need to take apart the dash in order to free the media bin? I'm not sure if I'd want to do that much but I'm interested in the cup holder and glove box. I'm guessing the cup holder ML3Z-1513562-CB is coming with the lights recently?

as for the media bin, pulling the console back to change it out isnt that big of a deal. as for the cup holders, its been a LONG LONG time since one hasnt came with the lights. or the light ring.

Just finished the install! Great thread and I really like the end result.

Only small issue I had is I ordered the Media Bin ML3Z-1513594-BA, and I'm not sure if I ordered the wrong part, but the mounting for the wireless charging pad is different on my 2023 Lightning. Because I had no way to transfer the wireless charging pad, I ended up reusing my existing media bin and transferring the light hole dimensions with calipers and using a fresh razor blade was able to cut it clean and accurate enough that the light popped right in and installed cleanly. I wish I remembered to take a picture of the two media bins side by side.

I finally am getting to this….

The single plug from the foot well ambient harness goes back to the cup holder light plug.
“run the harness that now has a T in it to the ambient light in the foot well”

The 4 plug harness taps into center console light then short end feeds media light and long end feeds glove box light.

So both long harnesses go to center console.

Initially the cup holders only lit when I shut truck off and/or got out.

I tried adjusting ambient lights I initially could only get cup holders to light when I shut truck off.

See next post after I figured it out….

Looks like its time to add this options to my truck. Starting my research.

I have a '23 Lariat ER with factory ambient lighting.

So far I can get the complete cup holder from the Dealer for $58.00 CAD
Not going to add the media light, but considering adding the blue media light as the glove box light if it fits. This might involve swapping out the lens sleeve.

Questions I have, Fell free to help out if anyone knows this.
1. Do I still need a harness if there is factory ambient lighting?
2. Has anyone compared the size and fit of the media light and the glove box light?
- Do they have the same electrical plug? Do they have the same size plastic lens sleeve?
3. Do I need a harness or are the plugs hidden in the console that I can just plug in to?
4. Who do I contact to make me a harness? is it @JHForman812 ?

Thank you in advance to everyone who takes the time to answer my questions. I really apricate your time and effort.

1. yes you still need harnesses to add these in regardless.
2. the lights are the same size, ive had guys on the ICE forum put a media bin light in place of the glove box light so they can have blue color instead of the yellowish/white. The connectors are not the same, the glove box is a female connector, the media bin is a male connector.
3. the connectors are not in the truck hence why you need harnesses to add them back in.
4. Ive made a few harnesses lol.

Awesome!!! Thanks for answering all my questions. It seems to me your the guy to go to for the harness and lots of people seem to be happy with all the help and support you’ve been offering with this.

Now I have more questions. Would you be willing to share the required plug info so I could make a harness myself? Heres my thought process. Cross border shipping can be pricy. Plus all my soldering supplies in my garage are begging me to take on another project.

I’d also be willing to make harnesses for other canadian truck owners if they wanted. I also don’t want to take anything away from you so let me know what you think of this. Not sure if this is hobby/helping thing for you or if there is a more lucrative side. At the end of the day I’m just looking to add these features and save some $$.

I’m going to stop rambling now. Thanks again!!

I’ve shared them in this thread I think before ?

You’ll need to look at the engineering drawings to figure out which terminals you need. These will vary based on how you want to configure the harness.

Side note I eat 10$ of the shipping to help you guys in the great north.

Thanks for being generous with the information, and willing to take a hit to those of us in the Great White North.

I did look up those part numbers and I was able to Take the Molex/Mauser part number you gave and cross reference them to the Ford OEM Wiring harness.

For others that are interested
Electrical Connectors

Ford Part

14S411C - WPT1103 (Molex 31067-1070)

14S411P – WPT1182 (Molex 31067-1010)

There is also the 14S411J - WPT911 But this seems to be a mirrored flip of the plug required as far as I can tell.

Next Steps is to order the parts from Ford and see what I get and then consult the drawings for the pin identification. This also brings me to my next question. What part of the existing cabin lighting system are you tee-ing in to? The 2023 Lighting sheet shows all the lighting that's been deleted on the drawing for the 2023 F-150 Lightning. I have attached a picture. So the drawing for the associated wiring harness isn't going to reflect that actual locations of an available cabin lighting electrical connectors to tee in to. I have highlighted some potential spots. Three of these obviously don't exist.

you need to look at my 90 page post on the ICE forum, I’ve got good pictures telling you where everything goes.

Thanks for that. I started to look at it. But I will dig deeper. Also Why are the cup holders on the ICE version White LED lights?

They’re not, probably people’s photos. They are Ice blue just like all the other ford lights. People in this thread are using the same cup holder and lights as the ICE guys.

Agree completely - many ICE and Lightning owners have all followed the same directions and with great success. only a single color for many years now - blue.
