I rarely take my hand off the wheel. Too many worn-out lines here. It is a bit concerning if it crossed the yellow line on the left and hopefully @Ford is taking note. Left line seems pretty clear in your picture.

I have had my truck for almost a year now and BC has been pretty good since day one. Is it perfect? No, but this is why they aren't at the point where the truck will drive itself without our paying attention. I agree though... This one was probably the worst mistake it has made which is why I actually took the time to post it.

I don't leave my hands on the wheel all the time, but I have my hands resting on my knees ready to take over.

There is another stretch of road on the beltway near me that both BC and Tesla Autopilot struggle with. There are markings on the road that head off to the left at a 60-70 degree angle following road construction. About half the time, the vehicle want to try to follow those.

The white lines seem distorted, as if they were moved +/- a few feet for construction realignments recently, the prominent lines are also badly faded, add in the shadow on the left most lane boundary made it difficult for the optics of the system to track properly

Look... I know my picture was a bad one, but did you have to zoom in and make it even worse?!

Road construction leftovers are a problem for both BC and Tesla Autopilot. This is a stretch of road I have driven many many (TOO MANY) times in this lane. The only difference I can figure was the shadow running right up the middle of the lane was really stark that day. Or maybe Elsa (truck name) just wanted to end it all.

FSD is awful, I had a Tesla Model Y for two years and it was bad. On the interstate is had constant phantom breaking issues, some to the point where other drivers thought I break checked them and proceeded to rage at me. One of Tesla's biggest issues is it reliance on vision only, Musk has a weird believe that camera vision and AI are good enough to replicate human eyes and the brain's ability to conceive distance of objects. I love BC and find it more enjoyable than FSD but what I don't love is Fords inability to upgrade their tech, especially when it can be done.

Funny you should tell that story. My wife's Model Y is downloading the latest software update that includes FSD. I will see how long it takes FSD to try to kill me.

FSD hasn't tried to kill me yet, but it has tried to curb my wheels and been so conservative at stop signs that other drivers honk at me.

Have you been in a Tesla with 12.3? It’s literally door to door. The edge cases I have to watch for now are school zones with sometimes one way streets, or it turning down a street that I don’t want it to use, or it changes lanes into slower traffic and it does not do it fast enough to not annoy faster traffic in the cars current lane. It gets me from my driveway to my work parking lot 90% of the time without me intervening. Most of those are now because someone is behind me and it’s taking too long to turn right because of traffic.
