Hi, curious if this temp reading is normal. Charger has been ide, not plugged in to truck, for roughly twenty hours. Ambient temp outdoors as well as the garage is 70-72 degrees. Seems this is a bit high, just wanting to verify it’s normal.

I haven't measured mine, but assuming your IR gun is targeting the transformer, that's always on converting the 240v input to a lower AC voltage that is in turn converted to DC to power the logic circuits and relays.

When I was having overheating issues while charging last year they had me take some temps. This was the warmest I found prior to charging. Ambient temp in the garage was mid 50s.

So I’m just going to monitor the temps going forward. I gather it’s nothing to be terribly concerned about at this point .

I’d consider that pretty normal. Most people don’t realize how hot power equipment runs. You’re showing about 15C above ambient, which is very reasonable.

Your equipment grounding conductor appears to be undersized, though.

On my install, I have a 60 amp breaker, #6 wire to hots and #8 for ground. Set to 48 amps max in app.

Any issues if I turn off breaker to charger when not in use? Overkill if I do?

You may want it on overnight to get software updates. But there aren’t many updates.
Other than that, no issue.

Here’s a shot of the multi meter gauge I installed into my FCSP. They are cheap and easy to install, if you’re interested in keeping an eye on things. This one is missing the temperature sensor, but they are available on Amazon.
