That website is only used if the dealer provides tax credit at the time of sale. If you are going to claim the tax credit on your own, there is nothing for the dealer to do.

You’d be surprised to know that many that I talked with had no idea that they they are the ones to do this…have no idea why many did not know. The ones that do this educated me…got it?

Totally confused about what you're looking for. There is no paperwork required from the dealer, if the dealer is not fronting the tax credit. You just fill out a form 8936 when filing your 2024 tax return.

Lesson learned for others. If your dealer does not do ”Point of Sale” tax credit for you, then just walk away. We should be rewarding dealers that are participating with the program.

Not worth the hassle or the long wait to see if dealership files paperwork correctly for you to get the tax credit.

Cash for Clunkers was 20 years ago. That excuse by dealership no longer holds any water.
