Can't we all just......get alongJust in spotting Cyber Turds
This is probably the case. Although I am starting to get the feeling that the “Foundation” is going to be around for a while. The normal CT will be the true limited edition.Seem to be following Ford's foot steps in limiting the Pro and XLT.
lol for sure. Just a ton of Lightning owners dumping their Lightning bc their # for CT came in. I don’t think the CT qualifies as a truck…rather an EV car that tows. Can't we all just......get along
"Demon Love Child of a DeLorean and a Pontiac Aztek?"Less cool DeLorean gets my vote!!!
Edit: cyber suppository a close second!
never have sat in one, but how is seating position better then my lightning? I am 6’5 and can have my seat in my normal position and still sit in the back with tons of legroom to spare.Seating position is better
for a lot of things I would agree with you, but really for most things no. The Lightning is a truck not an iPad, well unless you bought the Lariat and above. I would love some of the nerd data tools Tesla has and the quickness of doing OTA, but for the normal stuff I think the Lightning is great.software is lightyears better.
It's not the "room" that's better, it's the overall position. And a lot of that is personal preference. The overall position is better FOR ME, but I get that's an opinion not shared by all...never will be. I always want the steering wheel as low as possible, for example. The CT's steering wheel is small and since there's no "dash" you can put it as low as desired w/o anything being blocked. Super comfortable for me. Similar to my (traded in on Lightning) Model Y. The view forward is great (let's not talk about sideways or back...those a-pillars and sails...ouch...not so good there LOL!!)never have sat in one, but how is seating position better then my lightning? Well you're kinda *completely* agreeing with me. The technology is better, you just may not want it. I'm a computer nerd, programmer. More tech is better as far as I'm concerned. I'm fine with an iPad on wheels and consider that to be "better technology". Ford's software is "fine' but not in the same class as Tesla's. There's something to be said for owning both the hardware and the software...makes the software easier to deal with. Ford is more like a built PC...bits and pieces from everywhere. Very difficult to adjust software without hardware cooperation.for a lot of things I would agree with you, but really for most things no. Oh yeah….CarPlay……
A person drives a CT it is a vanity play unless you are using it to promote a business or 501C3. People complain about OTAs with Ford. I had to drive my truck to the Toyota dealership to do updates. The OTAs are actually pretty good. It just took them some time to figure it out. Mass recalls on the CT. Why would anyone seriously drive this thing other than vanity? Being serious. It's not the "room" that's better, it's the overall position. And a lot of that is personal preference. And CarPlay...I thought I'd miss it in my Tesla...I didn't. I'm finding that when the car's built-in software is competent, CarPlay isn't necessary...it's more for when the car designer cut corners on the software, decide they want to focus on something else...or for rental cars. Love it when I'm in a "foreign" car. But Tesla's interface design is so good, CarPlay was never missed or needed by me. Tesla's built in nav is great. Punch in where you want to go and it handles everything else and does it REALLY REALLY well. Better than Waze, ABRP, Apple Maps, the built in Ford Nav, etc. The audio controls are great...I never missed CarPlay.
Anyway, I stand by my statement...tech and software are lightyears better in Tesla in general and certainly in the CT.
Hardly from the truth. I think there actual UI is garbage. I had in the Y and 3 where you have to use the screen to select a gear. I find the CT’s little tiny back up camera a joke and causing drivers to take their eyes off the road to much (should have done a monitor in the appropriate position, but we all know Elon is cheap and F….).Well you're kinda *completely* agreeing with me.
Is it competent or “best”? Can’t have it both ways really.car's built-in software is competent,
I'll give you better than Ford, but not better than any of the others IMO. The software isn't "lightyears" from Ford, it's just more gimmicky. There are several features that Ford could have one but decided not too due to the demographic that buys Fords...... it's not the computer nerd, programmer type. Tesla UI is superior to Ford's which is a shame. Our Instrument cluster is pathetic compared to say the Mustang and even the ICE F-150, it's just boring. It's not the "room" that's better, it's the overall position. As of last week you no longer needed to be a reservation holder to order a Foundation Series, and the delivery timeframes for new FS orders for non reservation holders are not long, which tells you the take up rate from reservation holders wasn't as strong as they might have expected. And there isn't going to be a 40K CyberTruck any more. The pre-order numbers aren't going to convert at anything like the rate some seem to think. Plus Musk has revealed himself to be even more of an absolute turd of a human being since the 2019 initial launch. Tesla sales are down as a direct consequence. Who knew that alienating customers, advertisers, whomever wasn't the smartest business strategy?I would hardly call 1.9 million orders a turd!
You're talking interface, I'm talking technology. Whether the interface is "good" or "bad" is an opinion. The Tesla technology is light years better. We can argue if the interface is better or not. The Ford interface is fine. The technology behind it is light years better on Tesla and the CT specifically. Just look at how often the two are updated and how well those updates go. I would argue that the CT technology is factually better. The interface? Meh...that's debatable. I prefer Tesla's, but I'm an admitted geek, so take it as you will. I prefer buttons for the climate control though. I don't have that on my Lariat either. I also prefer stalks for shifting and turn signals. But again, that's all interface, not technology.I'll give you better than Ford, but not better than any of the others IMO. The software isn't "lightyears" from Ford, it's just more gimmicky. There are several features that Ford could have one but decided not too due to the demographic that buys Fords...... it's not the computer nerd, programmer type. The CT's interior is pathetic, the rear is dump truck style, according to the Mag's (yeah I know, "paid shills") the Lightning handles the skidpad better, and the CT looks fragile upon approach.
Tesla needs another Truck without the sails and a properly sized interior. They built an El Camino that can tow.
See my response above. You're arguing UI vs technology. The screen gear selection sucks, the lack of stalks sucks. The technology is still better. The implementation maybe not so much.Hardly from the truth. I think there actual UI is garbage. I had in the Y and 3 where you have to use the screen to select a gear. I find the CT’s little tiny back up camera a joke and causing drivers to take their eyes off the road to much (should have done a monitor in the appropriate position, but we all know Elon is cheap and F….).
You're taking my statement out of context. I'm saying if a car's interface is at least competent, CarPlay isn't needed. Tesla's is far better than competent. My main point, though, is that Tesla doesn't need CarPlay. Its interface is better than CarPlay. I seriously thought I'd miss it. I didn't.Is it competent or “best”? Can’t have it both ways really.
Certainly a valid point. But that doesn't make Tesla's implementation worse because they DID spend time on it. Just probably makes it more expensive than probably necessary. That is why I prefer the CarPlay/Android Auto approach. It allows the OEMs to provide a good car, provide great datasets and APIs for accessory manufacturers to utilize and capture.
