Would You Buy A Lightning Again?

Let’s be truthful. No BS, no sugar. Would you buy another?
I ask because I still maintain my 2022 Lightning was the best Ford truck I can remember in 40 years. Solid. Yes, teething, but it was new technology. I had issues, but the biggest was range. The standard just didn’t cut it for me. I had to bail after trying to get an ER. Then the bottom fell out 2 weeks later after I got out.
Now, I’m in a position to get back into an ER Flash. Just wondering what you owners have to say.
I an upside down in my current truck, and have enough incentives, tax rebate, and a PCO to right me up. I could save an easy $5,000 plus a year driving a Lightning again. But I’d want to just run it. I’m on the fence. In 5 years, I’d have between 150-200k on it. I don’t think the batteries are an issue. The service intervals thru 200k are literally tiring. Nothing. I think a coolant change at 160k if I recall. The ER would fit my daily driving without issue. Vacations? Eh, maybe. I have concerns at 150-200k, who would want a used EV? New tech with better batteries, quicker charging, longer range would have to kill a used Lightning, right? Am I concerned about these things for nothing? I can’t imagine my 2023 STX will return $20k in five years with 150 on the clock, after its $15k depreciation in six months. So what’s the likelihood a 2024 Lightning will return $20k in five years with all the other tech advancement strikes against it? I can’t find my crystal ball. Thoughts appreciated.

I love my Lightning. YES I would and I did upgrade from the Pro to the XLT. Now I’m thinking about upgrading to the Platinum, but I think I’d have to upgrade my wife if I did. Or should I say she would upgrade me.

Yes I would... Love my mistress The software updates are getting better and more useful.. I saw a guy on YouTube in a 2024 charging and it showing the Kw on the dash.. will love to see that on my 23 someday... when I see people complain I no about the software updates I remember back to the early Teslas.. It took them years to get there updating process right.. but Ford gets compared to modern Tesla updating... yes it could and should be better but wow the truck is GREAT and as far as I'm concerned the software is icing on the cake.. as long as they keep on adding more icing I'll keep eating it up...

Everytime I get to accelerate I get as excited as the first time; I love driving the truck. I like driving around a big battery power supply everywhere I go and having it when the power goes out. This is my 3rd Ford and I think it will be my last as I’m tired of dealing with stupid things like constant CSP updates, 6+ months for replacement modules that fry themselves, not pushing out the big OTA updates due to incompetence and support being overall useless. I wouldn’t feel comfortable owning this truck if it wasn’t under warranty.

I bought 2023 Lightning Platinum (320 Mile range) absolutely loaded with every possible option with hefty incentives. $95K truck for $75K and I am absolutely loving it. I had tested Hummer, Rivian and Cybertruck and I am so glad I bought my truck. It is the best vehicle I ever had and I had everything from Porsche, S500, BMW 7 series, Lexus, etc. I'd buy one for my wife too but she prefers her little Chevy Bolt and she's happy with it too.

My F150 Lighting is my 3rd F150 (2003 XLT, 2015 XLT and 2023 Lightning ER) and the best one by far. If I outlive it I'll get another one. I kept my 2015 that I use occasionally for hauling off trash etc. but my go to is the Lightning.

Hey @Ford Motor Company, stop only commenting on how great our trucks look. Why don’t you address the complaints and offer some substantive information to keep your customers informed rather than always speculating. You could answer all of these gripes but choose not to. Every time I see your replies like this, it further confirms my belief of how disingenuous your service is.

I would not buy another Lightning. This was my first Ford. It is leaving a bad taste in my mouth. Probably wont buy another Ford every again either. I will keep this truck until the battery warranty is up and hopefully Toyota has an electric Tundra by then. I had zero issues with every other vehicle I've owned until now. Ford isn't a tech company, I know, but I'm just tired of always having to hope and pray everyday that it works. I've been late several times because it decides to not boot up properly. Karaoke shouldn't be the priority. FCSP half ass works. App crashes almost daily. Truck freezes randomly. No thanks. I'm done.
