Hi everyone,

Appreciate all the knowledge on this forum. I recently bought a Lariat ER 3 weeks ago. Right away I saw the tires were out of balance. Also, two days after I bought it, my tire pressure light came on, showing 32 psi in all wheels. I then found out the truck was built in February so B it was sitting on a lot for 8 months before I bought it. The truck rides rough, it feels like every bump in the road translates up to the truck. I got the tires balanced and it’s definitely better but I still have vibrations when driving. I’m wondering if I have bad tires or flat spots in the tires because it sat for so long under inflated? On such a heavy truck, is that a possibility?

Also, when lightly accelerating from 40-45 mph, the truck shudders slightly, like a bent driveshaft would feel on an ICE truck. When you let off the pedal, it shudders again. Then it goes away. Then when you accelerate, it comes back. It is pretty slight, but I would like it to be smooth like it should be on a brand new truck.

So overall, I love the truck, but has anyone else had anything like this?

I have an appointment for this Wednesday, but I have a bad feeling the dealer won’t see a problem.

Appreciate your thoughts! Thanks!

The shuddering sounds like something that someone else had complained about here in the past. You should do a search to try and find that thread, if you haven't already.

Yes, we've had a few reports about shuddering at certain speeds.

Make sure it's not the lane departure warning vibration you are feeling, not sure how familiar you might be with that feature, but the feedback is adjustable.

When I first got my Lightning, it would kick in on the occasions that I got too close to a lane marker.

Thanks, yes, it’s definitely not the lane departure warning. This feels like something deep in the drive train.

I couldn’t find too many of them that sounded like my problem. I bought the truck thinking it would be smooth like everyone says and this is just not smooth all the time

Thanks, yeah, I haven’t been able to find those threads except for major drivetrain failures. Mine works, just not smooth accelerating between 30-50 mph

My '22 Lariat ER has had that 40's mph shudder since I got it. But I also had my topper camper (a GoFast Camper) switched from my ICE F150 to the Lightning when I got it, and dealer couldn't find anything wrong, blames that. So I just got used to it. But would like to hear if you figure it out!

Will do! It doesn’t have a camper, but just a folding tonneau.

I would tend to agree. Find a way for Ford and/or the dealer to put 4 different tires on it and then test it. If that is not it, it would at least eliminate that assumption.

It sounds like the imbalance may be caused by a bearing issue. It’s possible. Don’t stop complaining. The truck should be silent and smooth. The further you go down the road like that can make it worse.
Good luck.
