First I want to say I picked up my brand new '22 Platinum the other day (I'm in love) - I had the dealer update all the software so that I wouldn't have to Wait to get the updates.

I've been on this forum already for a few months and you guys are unbelievable. Really huge, huge help!! I wouldn't have bought the car if it weren't for these forums.

I have no idea what version I'm on because my app won't show the updates until the next update.

1) My app seems to be working correctly - it connects to the car and I played with the app multiple times and seems to be working except that My app says that automatic updates are off when in fact, they are on in the car. It gives me the instructions on how to enable automatic updates but they are already enabled on the car.

2) My wireless android auto is definitely not up to par - definitely not working well and I have a pixel 6 - not sure what to do other than disable it.

Any thoughts?

not working well
Can you be more specific? Slow to attach? Choppy? Something else?

Mine seems to work very well, but I don't use it much and it's on the small screen.

Step 1 would be to plug it in using a USB cable to one of the two ports in the front.
If that works fine, then it's about the wireless connection, if it doesn't then it's more about your phone.

I had some issues when my (galaxy S22) had too many wireless networks stored, wiped all those and it was fine), I now use a wired Pixel 7 and that seems to be OK as well.

I've had some issues with Android Auto. Most are app specific. Waze is one that never seems to work properly (I'm in the Waze beta too) and I've stopped using until they iron out the Coolwalk issues.

If the entire experience has the same issue (sluggish, app crashes) it might be the connection (occasionally I have issues with the wireless connection), plugging in remedies most of these issues.

My app says that automatic updates are off when in fact, they are on in the car.
As long as the trucks Sync 4 screen is showing automatic updates are turned on and you set one of the recurring schedules, "check Daily at 01:00 am " then all should be good, don't worry about the Ford Pass App so much.

I just looked at mine and it walked me through the introduction screens like it has in the past and showed a summary of my settings in my truck, these views are not adjustable from the Fordpass app, you can only change the settings in the truck.

Regarding the general wonkiness of AA, it has been an issue for android auto users, as others suggested sort out how your mobile device is using networks, the key things I set on my phone, never auto connect phone to my home router if you do the phone is 50/50 random on which signal it's going to latch onto while near your home network,.

Allow the trucks "Projection" SID to auto connect to your mobile device, by optimizing this setting it improves the likelihood of a quick connection but has not fully eliminated issues, when it does misbehave, a quick switch off/on of the wifi widget on your phone should solve the problem, give it 15-30 seconds to establish a connection.

Look at your phones "Settings" / "Connections" / then at the bottom of the screen you may see a link to "Android Auto" this link brings you to the phones particular settings and how it behaves on the phone and what is projected to the Sync screen and what notifications are shown/heard.

Worst case, use the USB connection, that is generally 100% reliable.

Ok. I do have automatic updates installed.

As for the android auto - it might not be just the android auto. I had a few issues where the screen wasn't coming on. I thought maybe it was the android auto but I saw another thread and it might be the apim. I just know it didn't happen when I disabled android auto.

I will try plugging in to usb instead.
