Should Bluecruise work in stop and go traffic? I tried several times on our Thanksgiving trip when the I35 was stop and go and every time I tried it ended up leaving 10-15 car lengths in front of me when I felt it should have only been 2-3 (I had distance set to one bar). I ended up not using it because I was holding everything up. The only real success I had was when there was no traffic (Oklahoma) and I turned off speed limit sign recognition so it stopped speeding up to 80 when I needed to go unger 70 to conserve range. If there was any traffic it usually got uncomfortably close to the car in the adjacent lane (especially a semi).

You can change the following distance from 4 bars to 1 bar. Depending on when you engage it, a stop may require you to hit Resume manually.

Yes it should, on highways it should enter a state where it will auto resume within 30 seconds instead of stopping and requiring driver input to restart after 3 seconds. This is my favorite time to use BC.

Forgot to mention, I had it on one bar. Iā€™ll update my original post.

I think the Hands Free was showing the entire time. I wish I had made a video, but between my wife telling me I was leaving too much space and me checking the setting to see if anything could be off I gave up messing with it.

Unfortunately, no. You can do one or the other. If you enable traffic jam assist, you lose BC.

Ford F-150 Lightning Bluecruise - stop and go traffic 1733001240962-ns

Edit: These changes are what is needed to enable it on the F150/Lightning. It would be different for the Mach E, but it can be done.

Ok, what is Traffic Jam Assist?
I've never tried it myself, but it it's described in this old video from Ford. This is when it was in full beta.

That video does not depict stress free.
They were beta testing it with hardware they Frankenstein'd into the test cars. I'm sure there are better videos out there...... that one is old. I'm at work and that was the first thing I found.

I have never heard of Traffic Jam Assist.

In traffic, I supplement with my foot on the accelerator.

After it stops, and if cars in front have a quick jump start, I will usually just press the accelerator in order to get the truck to speed up to catch up. It seems to work well enough for my use when I am in i485 traffic. Iā€™ve never seen anyone get 10 car lengths in front of me, maybe 2.5 or so before it starts to accelerate to match the speed. But honestly I try not to get too anxious when there is a gap. Everyone is just so used to tailgating. Iā€™d rather have the space cushion anyway.
