How can I remove ice from inside the truck’s charge cord receptacle

I need help.

No problem the first 2 winters but now I can’t plug in far enough to latch the plug and charge the truck. I did just order the pricy Canadian charge port cover but the horse has already been stolen. No garage and the weather has been and is forecast to remain 0 to 20 with more snow almost daily and worst of all, very high wind.

I do carefully use a heat gun but is there a different way? For example what would happen if I squirt windshield washer fluid rated for 30 degrees below into where the plug goes? Maybe even preheated washer fluid?

Other ideas?

Hairdryer, plug it into the truck.

Thanks to all for your suggestions. I wound up using my wife’s hair dryer. There seemed to be ice in the head of the Ford high powered wall charger more than in the charge port. All is well now. And I shall now keep the hair dryer and and an extension cord in the frunk.

Walmart hair dryer, add it to the truck emergency kit…. Also carry a cheap air compressor has to be small the propower doesn’t like surge at compressor startup.

OP here: I did the hair dryer method and the airflow was good enough that I saw no need for an air compressor. My compressor. is in a cold garage so would have blown cold air.

A can of keyboard cleaner spray is all you need to blow out the melted water from the plug or receptacle.
