overpaid computer nerd.
I have a minor concern about that floorpan being a bit higher. Just wondering if it may affect comfort. Not too worried about it though. I’ll know for sure after the 20th.

If you are checking it out in person on 20th, can you measure the door to door distance for the back seat floor? I am trying to see how short one has to be to be able to sleep back there with the seat up.

Anyone already know this?

It will be the same as any 2021 F150. Just go to a Ford dealer and try it out.

I think it's a regular SuperCrew cab with 51½ foot bed. You could be 8 feet tall … it's a lot of space. : )

I can imagine it takes a bit of leg room away from the rear passengers. This being a parts bin prototype, that battery enclosure could (will?) change its dimensions.
For back seat passengers, it works out either way – adult passengers are probably there for short trips (work, recreation, entertainment) and only child and teen children passengers are there for long trips.

No, I haven't seen it in person, other than pictures of what might either be a Black or a Antimatter Blue F-150 Lightning on earlier threads.

I really like it, what I wanted Velocity Blue to be like.

I don't think the floorpan is any higher than an ICE f150, Assuming we're talking about the same thing. All photos I see of the F150 SuperCrew have that "raised" look. It does appear that the non-SuperCrew F150 do have "flatter" floors.

Remember what the Ford reps said - it's not a production truck - it was literally assembled by Ford engineers module at a time.

Reps said, things may change with the actual production Lightning.

I do like the rear tailgate - differs a lot from the ICE F150.

Being a Lariat trim, I wonder if that will follow thru on the XLT trim ???

The cab is exactly the same on the ICE trucks as it is on the Lightning. The only differences in the sheet metal are the fenders, hood, outer bodysides and the tailgate on the Lariat+ models. The XLT and PRO model get the current gas truck tailgate.

And here is the reason for the elevated rear cab floor on the Lightning and another reason Ford is going quick to design the 2nd gen EV Lightning to be released in 2025.

I'll have to ask a guy I know in Stamping, but from what I can tell with the few test units I have seen that have run through the plant, the cab is exactly the same as the gas trucks.
