They delivered 40,000 adapters? I call complete and total BS. I have an order number in mid 6,600 range. Is Ford sending these things out to the dealers for the Lightnings on the lots first and saying screw you to the people that actually own the trucks already?
That is the only explanation...
I'm reposting my vent because I am that p!ssed off and disappointed in Ford.
Well, for 💩s and giggles, I checked my adapter status tonight. Since I checked yesterday it has now been moved from July to........September. I am in the 6600 range.

The morons at Ford have f#cked themselves, and done it hard.
What in the actual f@ck Ford? This nonsense right here is just a...
And if they are open, then there is a pathway for debris to enter into the area. My point remains.
On longer trips to cool the battery do the louvers open?
In either event, you don't want it you don't have to buy it. Many of us do, and we'd prefer to protect the intakes if possible. Sh!t...
But are they always closed? What would the utility be to install louvres that are open only when parked/off? On the ICE F-150s these are open to allow for more airflow when needed.
Open or closed, a good bit of debris can whack the hell out of the louvres causing fire flow issues.
I understand your point. We are farther along than it seems people want to believe, BUT with a government mandating adoption and ICE sales this is only going to get dramatically worse. The infrastructure is not there for what we have now, and yet the current administration is forcing adoption...
The thing is that it is not just Ford. Every EV manufacturer is dealing with this. And I don't consider us early adopters. EVs have been been out for almost 20 years. And while I love my truck for daily driving, if I got to to northern New Hampshire, say north of Concord it's pretty freaking...
Ugh. Tried a trip yesterday. Charge got low, so I pulled into a Ford dealer to try and charge the truck.
What a useless damned system the FordCharge set up was.
Drove by many banks of Tesla chargers though......of course the charger that was due in May now says "ship by July."
I am so...
Ford has had pathetic information regarding many aspects of things.
As for "free", I am reminded of the old adage that "nothing is so expensive as that which is free."
So here we are at the 21st of June. My page as of about 5 minutes ago says that it's supposed to ship in June.
Here's me holding my breath.
The brain trust at Ford/Tesla shouldn't have said a damned thing about the adapters until they had them made in sufficient amounts. My order number is...
Ditch it. It looks cheesy AF.
Now, since she's white a nice lightning blue pinstripe down the side that incorporates a bolt of lightning would look primo if done right.
Hey Doug. Just a word of advice having found out the hard way.......the chipmunks and squirrels and assorted varmints LOVE those electrical cords. Not sure if I'd let it just rest on the ground like that.
Had a chipmunk stuck in my garage a month after I bought the truck and the little...
