Everything is updated with the exception of the APIM...I need to go get a 64GB USB stick. But I have the following DTCs that will not clear. Any ideas? The GWM error says it's an ethernet failure when trying to communicate with the IPMA. How do I fix that?
Just to confirm. My sync screen is supposed to show “Vehicle network communication error” while the update is taking place? I’ve got about 30k blocks left for this update to hopefully complete.
Am I correct in assuming that I won't be able to clear all my DTCs until the instrument cluster module is reinstalled? Also, how long does the APIM update take?
Now that I'm not dropping voltage, but holding steady at 11.4/11.5, I'm hoping I can finish this update and get my instrument cluster back. I saw I've got the APIM update in my list as of this morning, so that will be the next thing I tackle after I get my truck working again and all my DTCs...
Interesting find. The metal bolt behind the battery doesn’t work for me. Had to use a screw directly on the frame that has a wire which connects back to the battery. Once I moved the negative from the charger the voltage went back up. Sitting at 11.5v right now but was down to 10.9 when I moved it.
Early start trying this new charger. I have FDRS loaded and connected. Battery charger is connected and set to 10amp boost. It shows that it’s charging. Yet FDRS shows my voltage continuing to drop. The battery is sitting at 11.6 now but drops a 10th every few minutes.
Dealer installed a...
it was a duralast 15amp. It had 3 amp maintain. I exchanged it for the duralast 75amp ( https://www.autozone.com/test-scan-and-specialty-tools/battery-charger/p/duralast-75-amp-engine-starter-battery-charger/567693_0_0) so we’ll see if that works. The update fails once my battery hits 5.7 and...
I’m on my second battery charger and neither have been able to keep my battery charged during the IPC update. I’m at 40k blocks out of 90k and down to 6.3v. Not sure why it keeps draining the battery and the charger is not able to keep it charged.
Well I think I’m about to waste about 2 hours since my charger does not seem to be working. I’m down to 6.1 volts. I have to wait for my wife to get home to make an autozone run to get a new charger. Good to know it’s going to take that long. I have to do it to get my cluster back since the...
Not sure if my gateway module update took or not. I followed the onscreen instructions but it just hung at the establishing communication step. Had to stop FDRS and reload it. I’m retrying the instrument cluster update again. It’s gotten further than it did before and looks like it might take...
I can definitely turn my radio back on after the system “shuts down”. About another 30 min remaining until the update is supposed to finish. Fingers crossed. Regardless of whether it takes or not, my next priority is getting my center cluster back.
So is it an issue if the truck shuts off during the update process? It says to turn the ignition on, but mine will only stay on for 15 min or so before it automatically shuts off. It's still updating and I can see the VXDiag device is actively communicating. Just not sure if the fact that the...
Ok. Will do that in about 2 hours. I started the gateway module update via the canbus interface since it wasn’t seeing my usb when I plugged it in. Not sure what’s changed but not getting that network error right now. So if it’s a successful update it will take about 2 more hours to finish.
So FDRS crashed for some reason. When I reloaded i selected my vehicle and it loaded performing the network scan (which I guess we’re not supposed to do). Anyway, once the scan was completed there were a bunch of orange boxes.
