I installed the battery this weekend. I had some issues with the inverter in a loop trying to update the firmware of the battery, but I was able to get that solved.
Now I found out the DC fuses in the inverter were blown. My system has never powered anything so I am quite sure that they were...
I think at this point there is software fixes available to make all the systems work. Unfortunately it has really been only the DIY capable crowd that can make it work.
I will try and help as much as I can, as I have a working system that I did myself, so I have quite a good understanding of...
I can’t speak for the last 2 years but the system does work now and quite reliably.
I transferred power multiple times yesterday with no issue. The only issue out of our control is getting the OTA. I do believe one of the updates around 6.14 is needed.
That is still a separate issue. The BDI has nothing to do with being able to pair the truck with the charge station pro.
That being said is the breaker to the inverter turned on? I know it sounds silly, but the BDI being completely off indicates that there is no power having ever been on, or...
Again you have a wierd setup and I could be wrong. That being said the symptoms you are seeing were the same as mine when I have the breaker off between the whb and panelboard. Might just double check that the phases are correct as well. I wouldn’t think it should matter much but I don’t know...
I see your problem clearly. You are missing the neutral wire on the load side of your WHB box. There are 2 lug connections for a reason. You need to run a neutral from the load side of the WHB to your panel board. This is exactly what I suspected was the issue. The neutral is formed by the...
I have confirmed with my own system today, that excess solar charges the truck when in off grid mode.. Its slow as its only morning and my solar system faces south west. Even the Delta app shows power flowing to the truck with animation.
For reference my truck charge % has gone up since being...
Next update. I can confirm that excess solar will charge the truck even in off-grid mode with the HIS system. In the M-professional app it even shows power flow animation going into the truck.
Its about as fast as a level 1 charger right now, but is working.
The WHB will not be powered. It actually disconnects the grid circuit when it goes offline. The power meter will shut off too. The critical part is that your E8-DBI inverter still has to be connected to the WHB in order to correctly form the neutral. That is what that big transformer in the...
I now have the installation permanently wired in and running. I also now have my existing Solar Edge inverter tied into the backup panel and working well.
Had a successful backup power transfer as well. It was right at dark, so I will have to wait until tomorrow to test the solar re-charging...
The consumption meter should actually turn off, when the power goes out. My meter is inside the WHB. The CTs should be on the grid side of the WHB.
When you disconnect the grid power you should hear the relay in the WHB click over.
At this point it is very hard to tell what is going on...
That looks like it should be correct. When you did this, did the truck come on correctly? This sounds silly but your main panel breaker is still on correct?
Here is how it is wired.
Unfortunately it is really hard to see how this is all connected in your setup. Even in a grid outage the WHB still needs to be connected to your panel board. I was hoping there was a disconnect in that box but it is just wire nuts. I am not sure how you can simulate an outage without...
Assuming your truck is at 6.14 and you can park fairly close to the FCSP (bluetooth range), the system is working reliably now.
The HIS hardware is actually really good and has a lot of the capabilities of other systems like sol-ark, EG4, etc (although max power might be lower than those...
