I have about 7k miles on the Toyo EV rated tires. Range is awesome on these tires, actually the same as what I had before which were the crap General Grabber stock tires. I run 45 psi which helps but they ride very well for an AT tire. They look great and they are snowflake rated for winter...
It isn't your outlet, it is the Ford Mobile Connector. I had the same issue last summer as it derates when is gets warm in the garage (80 degrees). Bought a third party mobile charger and have not had any issues since.
If the charging space is warm 80 degree plus environment then the Ford Mobile Charger will derate, I also had it fry an 110v Extension cord. I just my Ford Mobile charger for camping on a 110v connection but would not advise using it on a 220v connection. For reference I have owned a Tesla...
The problem is with the Ford Mobile Charger, it is junk. I had all sorts of issues with mine and bought a third party mobile charger and have not had a problem since. The Ford Mobile charger has internal temperature issues and will derate often because of it.
Part of buying a Ford or any other non Tesla is you are tied to 3rd party charging systems. I have travel thousands of miles with my Lightning and have 10 separate apps on my phone for that reason. Electrify America has one redeeming quality and that is the machines and the app show charging...
I would not leave your target charging level at 95%. Leave it at a much lower rate like 80% and then if you go on trips you can charge to 100% if you need the charge for a trip. The BMS on the Lightning can do some weird things. I notice if I precondition my battery in the morning sometimes...
The new tires don't ride quite as soft as the stock General Grabbers, which is to be expected as they are all terrain tires and I am running higher PSI in them. They are quiet and obviously live up to their claim about range. Really impressed with them and would recommend to those of you that...
50-70F with Driving Highway miles from Redmond, Oregon to Redding, California 600 miles round trip with elevation. From Redmond to Klamath Falls averaged 1.9KW/H which has 1000ft elevation. From Kfalls to Redding averaged 2.3KW/H but that is a minus 3000ft in elevation but temps got warmer...
Just took a long trip with the Toyo Open Country AT III EV tires and they are great. No range loss compared to the General Grabber stock tires. They look great as well here are some pics.
