@ctuan13 is an expert in Lightning cyber security, he may have some tips & risks.

I've personally never used FordPass, so I can't confirm precisely what does and doesn't disable its functionality, but from what I've seen, even the CANbus line being disconnected leads to setting a TCU code and from what I've seen from other's experiences any TCU codes set disables FordPass.

However, in theory there should be a way to block the personal data while still allowing FordPass functionality, unless a server authentication key is sent along with the data, in which case they probably can't be separated.

For me however, even if personal data is protected, my bigger concern is cybersecurity with regards to malware that could compromise the truck's system which can definitely still happen even if privacy is maintained.

So that's my personal reason for keeping the TCU disconnected, the privacy/data security is just an added benefit.

It's a small dent on the lower ridge on the passager door. Did all the paperwork and should pick it this week.

Wow! I thought my luck was bad. Hope things go well for you from here on out. I'm still in the rough. Had to have mine flatbedded to the dealer on Friday.
