Well I called the Ford New Vehicle Support Team and a nice young man went thru the motions and saw that yes indeed my truck was build but it was "Pending Final Launch Readiness"

Hmmm, I thought the Lightnings line was already launched...

Anyway no, on hold for chips or any other reason.
What is your Blend date and sequence?

Just received my vin# and they bummed my date from 6/13 to 6/6. Interesting. Black ER Lariat. Spray in liner.
What is your blend & In Production dates?

Got the activation in the truck just now. Just waiting for a helpful Ford employee to touch that button for me. 😁

So, following my communication mishap yesterday with my dealer, I called Ford New Vehicle Customer Support. The agent, who was very nice, told me my vehicle has completed its trip through the Bedliner Shop and is currently “…temporarily at a storage site on a chip hold”.

He said he was sorry to have to deliver that news…I told him it’s ok, he was just a messenger…I expect he doesn’t get a lot of kindness when he has to deliver that message 😘

I feel I have joined a noble club….

So much for securing any financing at a decent rate……🥸

I just got off Ford Sync Chat where I got the following message:

I appreciate your patience. The vehicle is currently In Production - When an order is "In Production," it is being manufactured at one of our factories. It has been released to the body company to complete production and is located at Rouge Electric Vehicle Center (revc), MI.

I followed up asking if the system showed my vehicle on a “Chip Hold”. The agent replied the record showed “no holds“ currently on the vehicle 😊

It is a beautiful day!!!!!

A happy update to my “Chip Hold” notification received earlier this week.

I just got off Ford Sync Chat where I got the following message:

I appreciate your patience. The vehicle is currently In Production - When an order is "In Production," it is being manufactured at one of our factories. It has been released to the body company to complete production and is located at Rouge Electric Vehicle Center (revc), MI.

I followed up asking if the system showed my vehicle on a “Chip Hold”. The agent replied the record showed “no holds“ currently on the vehicle 😊

It is a beautiful day!!!!!
Did your modules pop before that?

Mine does the same!

Mid-year, security, performance and design changes may be what is happening right now, still down as of a few minutes ago, this may be several more hours, if the maintenance task list is extensive.

Did your modules pop before that?
Yes, early morning on 6/20 with 1147 lines, increasing to 1154 later that morning. The truck also shows on my Ford Pass app, though no one has accepted 😉. Interestingly, the only service showing available on the app is “WiFi”, not the “Onboard Scales“ others are seeing🤔.

The mysteries of life, I think I found them…………..,🧐

My Ford Pass app does not offer it and the website won't click open (Chat SYNC & Service)...
It was a challenge to get access. The chat agents working the FordPass app can’t answer your “new vehicle on order“ questions…they don’t have access to that info and will direct you to the Customer Service telephone 📞 number.

The “Contact” web page chat hyperlink has rarely worked for me…only once has the hyperlink been functioning…may do so only during certain hours?

This is the only way I have been able to chat with someone at Ford:

Scroll down the page until you get to “Welcome to Sync Central” and a floating “Chat” icon will pop up (see attached photo) in the lower right portion of the screen.

Select that icon, and a mini-form will pop up asking first/last name, VIN, and a pull-down selector for why you want to chat…I choose the technology option.

Even though these chat agents are assigned to SYNC services, they have access to the new vehicle production status information and have been very accommodating with my questions……..
