I am hoping your shipping email will show up Monday. My Blend was 7/14 so I am running 2 days behind you.

The truck bringing your Lightning to you in TENN might also bring mine to me in KY down either I65 or I75. :)
Actually I ordered it from GA. There is no high volume ford dealerships in TN. My thinking during reservation was that higher chances of getting lightning will be with dealer who sells a lot. I think it was good way to go.
Friend of mine who made reservation together with me, but with local dealer didn’t even get order invitation

Blend 7/14.
Modules started popping yesterday, 7/16, around 3:30 pm.
Still no tear tag as of this morning, 7/17, 6:41 am.

My production week was for 6/6. Then updated to 6/13. Did not see the built update until 7/2. According to Ford the vehicle was completed on 6/23 but was on a lot adjacent to the factory for further tests/checks. I got a bit curious. Attempted to hail my Lightning. Another member tried that and was successful until Ford shut him down. My initial attempts were unsuccessful. The Ford Pass app though gave me a " ACTIVATION PENDING " notification. The next email later that week, on Saturday evening, indicated that Ford was arranging shipping to my dealer. Still could not trace the vehicle yet until last night. 7/16 Saturday evening again. As I was trying to watch " Lord of the Rings ", to refresh my memory and get ready for the sequel, I got the WOW notification.
My Lightning was trying to reach out to me.
Activation notices were popping on my screen.
Suddenly, I lost complete interest on what I was watching and concentrated to activating my Lightning. Right in to the Connected Services and activated my BC, NAV and Ford Charging Network with EA and the 250KW in my account. As the services were getting activated, my location of my Lightning was revealed. Dropped off at a railyard for shipping. As I was focusing on what was going on with my vehicle, I noticed the odometer mileage. 48 miles, 81% SOC, 251 miles.
Wondered what they were testing. The distance from the factory to the railyard was 25 miles. The drove it there. Some other road testing took place also. Either way, the vehicle is in a railyard ready to ship. Today, Sunday morning, 7/17 my Lightning fell asleep. No more tracking as of now. Unable to track its whereabouts.
Ford assured me that I should expect my Lightning between 7/22 - 7/28. Progress is made.
I am gathering my aftermarket accessories.
Wonder about that 80 amp charger.!!!

Woke up and ran through my checks.

Ford order site in red:
“We're sorry. We are unable to process this Order. Please enter a valid Ford Order/VIN.”

Checked and double checked the order and vin. Tried the Canadian site as well

- No modules yet
- Sticker still loads
- FordPass still shows vehicle
- Ford website still shows under reservation/In production
- Ford website / Myaccount still shows vehicle details

Not sure what the deal was but that made me freak out a little. Given it’s everywhere else, probably a system update or something

I’d say system upgrades. Most large companies push code to production early Sunday mornings. Anyone here have access to the ford applications upgrade schedule to validate.

I have not used a computer for any of the processes. Smart device only. Ford.com or FordPass. Reservation, ordering.

Loaded my VIN inFordPass once allowed, took a couple days before FordPass would accept. I too just received the “Activate Vehicle” button on the Lightning this morning. (4 other vehicles in FordPass). Should I activate? What are the pros and cons for activating?

As far as I can tell, the Pro is you'll be able to track your vehicle and see the status at a much more granular level than any other tracker.

Negative: Not 100% sure but isn't there a free connectivity for the first 3 years? You might start your clock early on that.

Thanks. And then a follow up. Free 3 year connectivity??? Like others here have said. I don’t do subscriptions. Is a subscription required if 99% of the time Truck will charge at home and receive OTA’s from home internet. I’m sorry to be such a dinosaur.

I think that was the original plan, but I haven’t seen any recent literature on it. Only previous literature for FordPass Connect where activation was optional vs the F150L where it is activated automatically.

I can tell you on vehicles like Tesla you can still get updates but you lose access to functions like live traffic. With Ford it looks like phone as a key, remote monitoring, basically anything via the app would be tied to FordPass connect.

@Yellow Buddy - I believe your truck was to be blended Friday (mine was Thursday). I got my partial Pop early Saturday morning (no tear tag as yet) so I would have expected you to get yours this morning. Earlier in the week some were getting their pops the next day. My Tear has not yet showed up as of now.

It feels to me that since they were trying to build so many (802) this first week back and the first week working in the expanded factory they have experienced a back up at the end of the week near the end of the process.

I have not yet heard of anyone this week reporting "Built" or "Shipped" status. We'll know if this is true in the next couple of days as Week 7/18 gets underway.

Why stop at activation? Have them drive it to your dealer for faster delivery!

Perhaps. Doing the math, just about 2/3 of the way in based on my production number. To be blended on Friday (5/7 days) I calculated I’m likely in the last shift of the day. Of course that’s assuming linear production which may not be the case as well.

But if that is the case modules popping even today would be optimistic. But I’ll keep refreshing, and entertain myself on the forums in the meantime.

As you all may have noticed, they days of lag between scheduled blend day and actual in-production date have gotten back to a normal range of around 1-2 days, this is how it was when they kicked off the mass production of the DEMO units.
