Got another call this morning. They need to run the high voltage CSP, so we have confirmation that is happening on the dealer side. Just a heads up to everyone as their trucks arrive.

Hoping we're still good for 4pm but they sound pretty busy so we'll see...

Cleared the CSP and took possession right before the dealer closed. Happy with the dealer experience end to end (Varsity Ford Ann Arbor).

Happy with the truck so far too. For all those waiting: there is light at the end of the tunnel, and it's a Lighting (sorry, couldn't resist).

And @Ford Motor Company - I would much prefer a long/wide estimate to one that just keeps rolling forward. My biggest complaint about the whole process was the lack of consistency in the estimated delivery. Just tell me it could be Sep 1st-Sep 31st instead of rolling it forward a week five times in a row.

I think you're the first member to take delivery since the summer plant shutdown/expansion.

At this point I'm actually relying on everyone reporting in when a substantial change occurs.

Things that would help:

• All members stick to their own build week for reports, others can read and send reactions (likes) or congrat's when deliveries occur, otherwise remain silent unless you would like to help a newbie with researching techniques.
  
  
• All members can report when a substantial change occurs in their build week thread. (new action dates In Production, Built, Shipped Preparing for Delivery)
  
  
• No comments need for negative reports that's frustrating for everyone to see the negatives and worse so when folks are cross posting negative data or observations outside their own thread.
  
  
• Doing the above will streamline the content of useful data, I'd recommend, you monitor a couple of the weeks preceding your build week to get a feel / sense for what's coming down the pike for your build.

Estimated Delivery Date updated this morning. Changed from 10/2 to 10/6. That's two updates this week on Ford.com.

Have to wonder if that's just a computer algorithm moving the dates or something in the system. It's actually a lot of frequent updates, which we don't often as the other updates seem to be in monthly plus batches..

I'd rather have frequent updates and changes then silence..

From what I have learned from my "many" calls to Ford, all delivery estimates are generated from a system. Not until the Truck leaves Dearborn (and its final checkout) a better delivery estimate be provided. Its not customer focused at this time from my perspective

No, it is as simple as the routing schedules of CSX. P&W, NS, etc. Then loading rail cars and assembling strings of RC's heading in a common direction, with RC groups with closer drops at the tail, reach a rail terminal mid trip drop a group, then continue the roll to next terminal down track, on return pick up the empties and arrive at the Dearborn rail terminal for more, wash rinse repeat to all corners of the nation.
