I’m going to see what the dealership will do for me on the tonneau cover, if not I’ll wait to see what Black Friday deals the ford accessories website has. Currently they have 15% off.

Isnt the 15% off only under 1000? Unfortunatly most of the covers i'm looking at are over.

I haven’t seen anyone else post that they can see where their truck is before it’s delivered. Is that unusual? Are there many others that are still in the “In Production” phase?
Yes, there are a lucky few who were able to have a lot attendant at the factory press the accept button and activate Fordpass.

Yes, there are many trucks in every build week from 7/31 forward stuck in the "In Production" stage, slowly the factory is working through the backlog to update all of them to BUILT status, in due to this one will update as well

I read it as they’ll only discount up to $1000 and if you see the terms it says the max discount is $150. To confirm I just did a dummy order for the REV hard tonneau cover and the discount code worked.

Probably for a different forum, but anyone getting an after market tonneau cover? Was considering the BAK BAKflip MX4
if I went that way I’d do the MX4 or the G2…. I believe the OEM one from Ford is the G2. I had the OEM one on my 2017 F150 and liked it. Think it comes down to if you like the glossy or matte finish.

Matte all the way, so MX4 I believe....

I went ahead and reached out to my sales advisor, and he said my truck has been built for a few weeks, but was sent offsite for quality checks on 9/25. The Ford tracker does say "Last Updated 09/25/2023" as well, so it sounds like if you have a random Last Updated date that doesn't line up with being built, you may be in the same boat.

Congrats to the folks that have gotten their trucks! 🥳🎉

Anyone know the skinny on new Lightning "Break-In" recommendations. On new ICE vehicles, you're told to drive certain distances, not push too hard, etc. This is my 4th EV and don't recall ever being told to drive it soft/tame for xxxx miles before really pushing it?

<edit>
I did find this in the manual, but the googles says otherwise for EV vehicles?

BREAKING-IN
Your vehicle requires a break-in period. For the first 1,000 mi (1,600 km), avoid driving at high speeds, heavy braking, aggressive shifting or using your vehicle to tow. During this time, your vehicle may exhibit some unusual driving characteristics.

I can't access my order in the Ford Tracker. Is that the case for everyone, or maybe a sign the status is about to change? Trying to not freak out

Ford is temporary (?) scaling down F150 Lightning crew. So far 700 workers was temporary laid off.
https://www.freep.com/story/money/c...d-layoff-workers-f-150-lightning/71183765007/

The reason for this move named .. drums .. stockpile of trucks waiting for quality checks.
This is super concerning. In reading the article two things strike me. One, they say "From January through September, Ford sold 12,260 Lightning trucks. The company revealed its 2024 Lightning in September. Ford has stepped up its focus on hybrid trucks for buyers not yet sold on the idea of electric vehicles."

This suggests Ford is doing some major rethinking if America reallywants pure EVs and is not going to make them a priority (even though the low 12,260 is because they shipped nothing for most of those months.) have you seen many lightning advertisements? Ford is giving up without trying. Are the yeilding to the anti ev crowd?

The second thing that struck me is ford is discounting the remaining XLTs by $7500 to clear them out. I did Ford chat yesterday. My XLT is sitting at the local train station 20 minutes away. I My be able to weasel my way into more discount since I have not taken delivery, giving up the 1.9% apr. But I'm worried Ford's push into EVs is gone.

Lastly, has anyone heard the cybertruck specs are missing the mark? The stainless steel body is super heavy, and the 100kwh batteries can't meet near the range or performance goals. Don't quote me, but even the competition is struggling. Rivian is also in big trouble. I don't want a hybrid. Tends to be the worse of both worlds. No performance.
