This one has the heated and cooled seat controls, at least according to the pictures shown on the tech sheets. Mike G posted them here https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/heated-steering-wheel-retrofit-pu-22g06.16703/
thanks for the info seems interesting and or hopeful that other options may be available? It is curious however that all that documention does not mention anything different for BEV or ICE and or other vehicles etc that may or may not have heated or HC seats. (which makes no sense to me)

below is all the software variants on HVAC supported in lightning.

Ford F-150 Lightning 2022 Lightning Pro Seat Swap/Upgrade to Heated/Cooled 1695329804570

the one thing I can say with absolute certainty is ML3Z-19980-K while it can control HSW and limited control of blowers it cannot control heating or cooling. I believe largely due to firmware differences.

I'm also sort of curious with the lightning HSW program if they end up re-flashing the HVAC as a part of that, or its maybe the slightly new family of HVAC units come with different firmware from factory IDK.

Dunno. I ended up buying one of the units so if it ends up being plug and play I'll let you know

please do! were you able to control HSW from SYNC? with stock module and the suggested changes earlier?

Honestly never tried with your adjustments, never got the time. Just been too busy the last couple of weeks to mess around with it (riding mower crapped out on me so I had to go and grab a push mower to get me by, which then made me realize how much longer that would take me each week so I ended up buying a Mammotion Luba and spent last weekend setting that all up and making sure it would work for me)

Just a quick update took a 3 day weekend and did all the disassembly wiring etc. (more pictures and writeup to come on that just is a lot of info to put together)

Early Highlight notes:

all the wiring runs identified as neccessary, pins and wires all check out The seats are "technically" fully functional as well as the heated rear seats (which I am quite happy how well/easy they were to do)

However I can still only control the HC seats with a ICE HVAC module (and the ice HVAC as previously noted cannot actually control the BEV heater/AC),

the BEV HVAC I cant seem to access either to pull firmware down or to apply ANY configuration change at all with forscan. you can view but when applying a change it just errors. Other modules you can config just fine. I have logged issue with forscan.

Anyone else are you able to actually apply any change to HVAC module in a lightning? I would love anyone else's feedback here or if anyone can pull a backup of BEV HVAC firmware.

Looking close at the HVAC config comparing pro, lariat and some gas lariats I have my conspiracy theory that the BEV HVAC may have a different config structure which seems odd or sus. Hopefully can find some more info out there.

I can confirm that the part I ordered does have heated and cooled seats controls, as well as the hsw button. Hopefully that would work for you

have you installed it yet? sorry just curious and or frustrated with forscan at the moment

NL3Z- 19980-S is the part you ordered correct?

on a side note forscan got me another trial software but still no dice updating the hvac config

Haven't installed it yet, just got it today. I honestly don't know how to even install it so if you have a walkthrough or video or anything that would help. I think I could fumble my way through it but I'd rather have something to reference

ask and you shall receive, it is a little annoying to be sure. basic order is side trims from the console, the top frame around your screen then the long gray bar that your ignition button is in thats the scary one i worked right to left. the module itself is not too hard to pull out of its trim or the trim piece its mounted to.

other advice is leave it apart till you know the hvac module fully actually heats and cools still :) backup your as builts for the stock. you can just pop the ignition switch from the trim and just plug it in dangling style if you want to power cycle when making any forscan changes.

So another short update and some more good news.

Finally got a new or test version of forscan from the forscan team after a little back and forth troubleshooting that can actually edit the config on the BEV HVAC module.

Given I was still super suspicious that the config on our BEV HVAC module is different I opted to just try matching the config from a F150 lightning lariat vs follow the forscan spreadsheet. With the lariat config applied and stock BEV hvac module i was able to turn on and off heated, cooled seats along with the heated steering wheel via the 12 in screen despite no physical buttons for them present on the module itself.

I still really want to see if i can get a way of getting a hvac module with buttons working, but still waiting on either feedback from NL3Z- 19980-S (which still is technically a ICE part) or to get a forscan version that can talk to the BEV HVAC and let me pull down its firmware and try flashing that firmware onto a ICE module.

still updates and pics of the process coming :)

just further update unable to flash ML3Z-19980-K to BEV firmware incompatible software signatures.

I think the only options for physical controls is if the newer HVAC units such as NL3Z- 19980-S may either be default inlclude the coding to support BEV, or may support being flashed

what I can say is the BEV hvac Modules do contain a unique set of firmware that is NOT on the ICE units (makes sense as the heat and cooling solution is pretty different as well of different evap freezing concerns etc)

Forscan Config for HVAC i also strongly suspect is different between ICE and BEV (also a reason why a ICE HVAC will not drop in and work on a BEV)

Ford F-150 Lightning 2022 Lightning Pro Seat Swap/Upgrade to Heated/Cooled 1696598541899

so left two are pro and lariat bev, right two are ICE. In particular i was using the following as curious landmarks
733-01-03 xxxx ---- --xx
733-01-04 xxxx ---- --xx

these represent the front left and front right heated seats temp profiles. you can see we have the hex values 6E, 50, 36 respectively 110, 80, 54

looking at the BEV config same spot we have F0,80,A0 for left (240,128,160) and 00, 74, 40 for right (0,116, 64) which makes no sense

and it snot just a pro thing as the lariat is the same way

however if you look further down we see the same 6E, 50, 36 in lines 5 and 6 could be a coincidence but i believe the config likely is different and the values are all shifted around. also why efforts to program with standard sheet methods are futile/confusing results.

Sorry rapid fire updates:

Livinitup just confirmed with me BEV does have different config and updated tab in livinitups forscan spreadsheet.

Also for folks trying to enable HSW onscreen on lightning with stock HVAC modules you may need to change this as well lightning config the HSW is in a different spot so mine was not enabled by default and blindly writing lariat code worked, now that we have the full breakout easy to ID the exact spot. (also added this to previous notes on enabling HSW via main screen)

733-01-04xxxxxxxx*x--
change 4 to 6 in that cell

4 =CHW Continuous Heated Wiper is NOT permitted • HWMM Load Cycling is AVAILABLE for Maintenance • HSW Vehicle does NOT have a HSW
6 =CHW Continuous Heated Wiper is NOT permitted • HWMM Load Cycling is AVAILABLE for Maintenance • HSW Vehicle DOES have a HSW

So I can confirm that the new HVAC unit will let you use the heated steering wheel, so that's good. Only bad thing is that now my heated seats, and my regular HVAC heat no longer work. I used to be able to hit the air direction button and it would let me activate heat; now it just gives me options for air control

did you write your as built config in forscan?

if so it was the same observation I had with the HVAC unit i bought the ICE units have different firmware on them and a different config from the BEV vehicels

Yeah, wrote the same aside from the heated steering wheel stuff.
