I personally just wanted beefy looking tires that could get me through snow so I chose these. They do cut range but only by a very small fraction.
when you say cut range what are you getting now? With my old stock tires I could do 260 miles and my 34” K02 tires I can do 210 miles now. I went from like 2.0kwh to like 1.6kwh

It seems like I have reduced my range by 12% or so with the new tires. I still find that I have a significant amount of range though, so its no bother for me.

That’s Quite a bit. They claimed like only 5% with these new tires

I’m curious to see what the difference on the lighter SL rated Toyo’s. All of the early adopters I’ve seen are the heavier E rated version of the 275/60R20.

That was a rough estimate. I have never calculated it too carefully.

Showing off my new 2024 F-150 Lightning XLT on Toyo Open Country tires in the avalanche color with the electric blue accents on the Lightning and F-150 badgning.

The decals are a reflective material that really shines at night.

I've owned nearly every mid sized truck available, and some heavy duty and this truck makes me never want to go back to gas.

Video of it on YouTube:

Wonder what the deepest offset we can go on a rim and still be safe with all the weight of the EV?

Any thoughts on the E, SL, XL, LT versions of the Toyo Open Country AT3 EVs? LT is a stronger tire, but I won’t be rock crawling or towing much. Just light off-roading on dirt trails. Camping with a bed tent, etc. Been getting real confused with all the versions of this tire. Is the XL 116T I’m seeing advertised now the same as the SL? And LT the same as E? Any and all advice/info is welcome. About to get some of these and trying to see if I would be good with the 275/60R-20 116 XL.
I have Nokian Hakkapelitta LT3s on my truck and I got the E-ply rating on mine. Yes it was overkill based on the Lightning's load requirements and I'm about 10-pounds heavier per corner. I went with the E-ply anyway because the diameter was the closest to the OEM 275-50-70 of the Platinum tires and there were no other Hakkas that got as close to the OEM diameter.

A lot of people were saying that E-ply would be too stiff but I found that at the same PSI of 42, it is as plush as stock. On roadtrips I've brought the pressure up to 45PSI and I've managed to mostly maintain the same, if not slightly better efficiency. For day-to-day driving I drop the pressure to 43PSI as the ride becomes a bit jarring unladen.

These are on 18" rims with 265-70-18 tires.

Those look great!

Absolutely, I'd like to check into that too. That tire/rim combo looks great!
