2024 lightning Flash OTA updates

I called Ford to find out what’s going on with my charger. I can’t seem to get it on Wi-Fi for some reason so not sure what that issue is. I’ve tried several times. I’ve even used my Internet connection in my garage next to the vehicle still no connection for some reason. In the midst of this conversation, I asked them if they had seen any other problems with this the one gal on the phone said that she was going to check my over the air updates so I gave her my VIN she checked and she said I’m behind several updates I said I have it set on automatic updates between one in the morning and 6 AM She asked me then if I was plugged in and I said yes a lot of the times she said that it will not update if your truck is plugged in and charging she said do not charge overnight for a couple of nights to see if it updates the software this is the first I’ve heard of it doesn’t make sense. Why would you not be able to Get updates with your truck plugged in and charging doesn’t make any sense

Oh, I left that one important thing I have one of the Ford Pro buy directional chargers

The truck won't apply an OTA while DC fast charging, but it can apply while on a level 1/2 charger.

Humm that is not what the rep said? I think it’s just weird a charging at home would stop the over there. Updates doesn’t make any sense. I believe what you say but for some reason, I still have not gotten any updates since October 31 when I bought the truck and she said there are some updates

Welcome to Lightning ownership lol

For me it was quite a long time before any updates started to show up. Several months at least. I think I'm more or less caught up now after almost a year of ownership but you will never know for sure The process is... not great.

Glad you're enjoying the truck, eventually the updates will come.

As far as what the customer service folks tell you ...... some of these folks have been known to give misguidance.
