I thought I'd share my chat with ford regarding this.

First of all, the Ford field engineer clearly doesn't know as much as their chat AI.

They say that only the dealer can file a misbuilt claim, and they can only do it within 90 days of the truck being delivered to THEM

The GM of my dealership sent along the following email:

"I had a lengthy conversation with our Ford regional rep on this, and sent him all the details necessary to escalate this matter. He was reaching out to the product team in Dearborn and will be back in touch with me when he has a response. He seemed initially confident in being to find a solution or resolution in a timely manner."

I'll keep my fingers crossed, meanwhile I've researched the Better Business Bureau Auto Line program.

I have an appointment with my dealer's service department tomorrow. We'll see where that gets me.

I wouldn't have noticed except I went to use a tesla super charger (and needed to get REALLY close) and there was no beeping and i had to turn the camera on manually. Came here and found this thread.

Have them check the "Locking Removable Tail gate with Tail Gate Assist". It will likely be locking and likely be removable, but I'll bet you $2 it drops like a stone without the "Tail Gate Assist" damping mechanism. I ordered one ($106) and will put it on this week, but just another example... as if you need one. I assume you saw the post that shows that "Forward Sensing System" was actually deleted from all 2024 XLTs. So, it's not a Ford Marketing problem. I've attached a short Ford Video in case the dealer tries to convince you that "Forward Sensing System" is really the "Pre-Collision Assist system".
