I don't think we'll see this with the Lightning in its current incarnation. Too many supply constraints. The first time Ford ever makes 10K EV trucks in a month will be 3 years down the road after the new factory is open with a new design.
For gas said they will hit a run rate of 150k/yr. By the end of next year from the current (being expanded) factory. That is 12,500 per month.

Um...isn't the CT larger than the F-150? I don't see how that would make that line of thinking any better..
That's a common misconception. They are virtually the same length and width. The Lightning is a fraction of an inch bigger in both dimensions, so I'm not really sure how the Cybertruck got the reputation of being a giant.

to be fair, the early prototype(s) were larger than the now-stated dimensions - and those even before Elon came out to say they were shrinking the vehicle 3% (equates to ~7” in length)

also, the body styling (more like SUV profile than truck), the enormous wheelbase (equiv of a 6.6’ bed super cab), and 35” tires on lifted air suspension, all likely come together to present a larger -perhaps much larger -seeming

When they did the tug of war video the CT looked much larger than the F150. That was obviously an early prototype but that’s what’s stuck in my head. In either case, even if it is the same size it isn’t going to solve the size concern. It’s still a full sized truck.

Yeah i find it interesting when people have a “size concern” about a full sized truck.

If only apples were oranges!

The Rivian is there for the mid-sized fans, cold comfort as it is :ROFLMAO:

Im one of those, currently it’s an availability issue more than anything. I shopped a F-150 years ago and it was too large for me. It’s still too large for me. That hasn’t changed.

The Rivian is more appealing to me being closer to midsize or rather Ridgeline sized but which is more important? Size of the truck or features of the truck? We’ll see when my R1T gets delivered..until then the F-150 still feels too big for my needs but hasn’t been too big to be in the way.

I would think it comes down in one large part to interior space needs

If you have a family of 2, the Rivian is compelling.

If you have two adults plus some kids, the Rivian becomes a nonstarter.

They are full size trucks. The style is just very different.

not really, no - if purported CT measurements are to be believed. despite purporting to have a 6.5’ bed, and it’s purported wheelbase being as long as an F-150 SuperCrew with a 6.5’ bed, the overall CT vehicle length of 230” isn’t materially different form a SuperCrew F-150 with a 5.5’ bed
I cancelled my CT order when they didn't make any for three years. So glad to have my Lightning XLT now and never have to visit a gas station again. CT might be nice someday but this is my fourth F150 and it handles and drives even better than the first three. No way I want to look off to the side like the Tesla Model 3 or Y with that center screen. So nice to have the dashboard screen in front of the driver and the infotainment things off to the side. XLT screen is plenty big enough and fits right in the dash. Mach E style screen is too much like a Tesla and doesn't look integrated.
