The CT is a toy to compete with the TRXs and Raptors of the world.

The Rivian is really the Truck Model 3 owners should be looking at and it’s the Truck Tesla should have put out.

The Lightning is a car first, tech gadget 2nd IMO, and that’s what I love about it.
don’t we all want a TRX or raptor without the fuel bill? If that’s what Cybertruck turns out to be, look out everybody else…

Except the Raptor and TRX have quality interiors with a real steering wheel?

hmmm, I actually prefer the yoke steering wheel, used to it in a few min I can say.
Really? Interesting! I haven’t used it myself, but I am willing to give it a shot.

As long as you don't try to press any button while turning sharply at local speed, you will be fine.

It won't block the front panel/LCD, and it won't touch your legs so your legs have a lot of room, I really like that.

I live in rural area and don't remember when did I honk last time, I just smile and let it go if there is road rage (very very rare), but if you need to honk a lot, especially when you turn in city, it would be an issue.

This is underwhelming. F stock sliding from $25 to $11 from initial hype about Lightning to production numbers in July tells quite a story despite promises of producing 80k in 2023 and 160k in 2024. Reality check doesn’t add up.
You can’t pin the price of Ford stock solely on the Lightning or the MME fir that matter. We all know that the market in general has had an unsustainable rise and it then took a dump earlier this year. The fact that the Fed has increased interest rates, that there is a war in Europe, that oil and Gas have increased and that inflation is higher than most people have experienced all contribute to the overall stock market issues - which includes Ford’s stock price. Stinks I know because I have watched my limited stock values decrease.

Um...isn't the CT larger than the F-150? I don't see how that would make that line of thinking any better..
not really, no - if purported CT measurements are to be believed. despite purporting to have a 6.5’ bed, and it’s purported wheelbase being as long as an F-150 SuperCrew with a 6.5’ bed, the overall CT vehicle length of 230” isn’t materially different form a SuperCrew F-150 with a 5.5’ bed

You seem to be in the minority. I've read there are alot of pissed of Tesla customers, though, some of that is due to quality issues (you know, standard for Tesla).

Quality issue is a different story. Be frankly, I have the feeling that it could peel, the material/texture is just different from ANY steering wheels I ever used. So I am not surprised. No idea why Tesla decide to use that kind of material.

But I am really surprised that I like the yoke shape.

When you tested it, did you try a bunch of parking lot maneuvers where you have to go hand over hand?

So in 30 years will first year Lightnings be going up in value, or Power train swap candidates? For should have a Ford Performance Crate motor with 2000 horsepower for $49,000 in 2062!

A lot of potential truck lovers like myself prefer EV because we don't like to burn gas, no need to mention full size pickup trucks with 15mpg.

Lightning solves that problem.
Easy there, my Hybrid F150 seats 5, massages my backside, and has 7.2 Kw generator to power up my MachE on 240V! I hope I Love the Lightning enough to overcome the capability I'm giving up.

I am not testing it, I own it since June. Just back from dinner, no problem at all.

Lightning vs. ICE vs. Hybrid is a different topic. Hybrid still burns gas. I don't remember when I smell it last time.

........

More important than MY22 will be MY23. It will be exciting to see the first 10,000 Lightning sold month. Bets on when that will happen?
I don't think we'll see this with the Lightning in its current incarnation. Too many supply constraints. The first time Ford ever makes 10K EV trucks in a month will be 3 years down the road after the new factory is open with a new design.
