Someone should tweet that picture to Farley /Levine.
Blue window sticker. They can sell it for what they want after 6 months. I have no problem with ADM for abandoned orders (like possibly but not likely, Deleted member 9811 ;) ) and mannequins on the dealer lot. I only have a problem with dealers adding ADM to custom orders where they had to do nothing to make the sale.

BTW, I'm sure Deleted member 9811, aka RugbySecondrow is lurking on these boards to see the reactions to his previous post...I'm just waiting for the 'new' member coming in to defend his previous posts :sneaky:

I am having a bit of a problem here with a Morality Story.

This Greedy Dealer is trying to sell a truck at an Excessive Amount over MSRP. Many would say that with even a Dollar over MSRP he would be judged greedy. He will probably end up selling it for some thousands over MSRP to any one of a bunch of fools. In these inflationary times any number of businesses are doing this same thing (ie. Gasoline/Diesel?) and we blame the government.

But.....

Then we have the guy that originally ordered the truck who instead of abandoning the truck, buys it, probably at MSRP. He then, within weeks or months, flips it for thousands of dollars, and then later collects a $7,500.00 Tax Credit (that is not the behavior the credit was meant to encourage and I pay taxes, so part of that $7,500.00 came from my pocket).

It sounds like we are saying he is Smart and the Dealer is Greedy Slime.

According to my Life Code, I think what the Dealer is doing is immoral, excessively so.

But what the truck buyer is doing is both immoral, and illegal. He is committing Tax Fraud. "Oh", you say, "He really did not intend to buy it and immediately resell it." That is just an excuse many of us would use when IRS comes calling. But it is still wrong, although all of this behavior is common nowadays. Then we all complain about that damn rampant inflation.

We should call out any greed, as we individually see it, but please do not encourage flipping in the same breathe and think it is OK.

No real point to this post. Just saying.... (OK to throw rocks at Me :) )
(BTW - I am neither a Donkey nor an Elephant - I am a Conservative on Economics)
I mean…. It doesn’t anymore slimey than charging for factory installed parts….. they are charging extra for fender liners that already come on the truck smh

nobody 'has' to buy anything, that's where your morality story fails.

With some exception (food, clothing, shelter). I someone was buying all of the food in the country and reselling at huge markups, that is a much bigger moral issue than this is. Note: this does happen all of the time in disaster areas and arguably in controlled access areas as well. How much does water cost at a theme park or a baseball game?

We'll know what the market will bear once a few Lightnings hit BaT. If they're bring over $100k, I'm selling. There's only so much money I can leave on the table. Personally, I doubt they'll go for more than ~10k over MSRP except maybe the first one or two listed.

my barber just raised my haircut by 25%... this is lightning we are talking about. I think dealer will sell it within a month. Not sure if he'll get exactly what he's looking for but there are plenty of folks who want this truck that are loaded with bitcoin :)

Most tax tags and fees will be close to $6-8 grand so $10k doesn't really do much for you.

I agree. I don’t think very many will get flipped.

I’m pretty sure that this is a mannequin Lightning for the dealer that’s to be used for test driving purposes.

Yes, the dealer can sell this vehicle but only after several months. If they sell it before the expiration date from Ford, they’ll will face a hefty fine from Ford and I’m sure it’ll also affect future allocations.

It makes sense to have such a price on it because most sane people would not pay that much.

I’m sure this won’t be the first such price we see like this and this is the third one I’ve seen that was posted on a forum.

exactly no one is holding a gun to anyones head to pay the markup. you want it bad enough, then you pay for it. this truck will not last a month, maybe already sold.

Broncos in the right trim even the 2021s still pull 15k over sticker. Dont be surprised if the first year of these stay up in the 20 mark.

The Bronco and Lightning are very different vehicles. I wouldn’t assume the resale market will be the same.
