Does anyone convert these to 8’ beds? Or is that practically impossible? That’s the main thing I miss from my recently retired ‘02 F150.

Me thinks that anything that's gonna turn a 5ft bed into an 8ft bed is gonna look fugly.

I thought it would look funnier but it's not bad (it's about a 7 1/2 ft bed).

Ford F-150 Lightning 8’ bed mod? 8ft

Harder to do in real life though and I'd image it would be effect the handling.

I would have preferred an 8 foot bed. I saw some one else on the forum had a hitch mount bed extender which extends the bed out to 10 feet with the tail gate down or can be used with a headache rack for ladders, pipes ,lumber, etc. So I got one. Its comes apart and can easily be stored in the frunk. Its only rated at 300 lbs but if most of the weight is on the bed and tail gate that a sizable load. In the picture I have 6 4x6 and 6x6 beams. The long one is 16 feet. I had no problems with this load of about 600 lbs.

sw engineering manager,
E-Transit Chassis Cab with a dropside box that can be 10' or 12' long.
Payload is a hefty 4000 lbs.
Battery is kind of small and its only 2wd, but its an option. (The dropside box is popular in Europe)

Bought it off of Amazon for $60. There are more expensive ones if you need something sturdier.

Here the Link
