Anyone found a solution that lets them plug a good old 1/8" jack into their B&O sound system?

in my case I'd like to be able to play back recordings from a Zoom H5.

I'm wondering if there's a breakout box that would go from 1/8" to USB...and be recognized as an audio signal by the system.

for any other nerds working with Zoom devices, I tried playback with the Zoom in SD card reader mode, and then told the Lightning it was a ISB thumb drive. Stereo recognizes it but says "playlist corrupt".
So, prefer to work with the audio output.

thanks for any ideas!

Get a Bluetooth transmitter like a AirFLY SE (giggle it on Bezostore). Pair it with the truck, then plug it's aux into your device.

TADA , your zoom-thing now has Bluetooth.

thanks, I may give that a shot! Still hoping for an analog-to-digital converter option that is hardwired, but I'll def go Bluetooth if all else fails.

Yeah, I'll fool around with it this weekend using a Focusrite and keep posted.

I use an SSD formatted in exFAT to store my many music files.
It plays through the data USB port and shows up on the menu of audio sources.

It can be a USB thumb drive if you want a smaller number of files.

Just HAS to be formatted in exFAT or else it won't be recognized by the system (sync 4).

So disappointed neither my iPod nor Zune would play through the USB!
In my 2012 Nissan Leaf they work fine, alas.

Thanks for the info.
Definitely pricey.

A cheaper option is an FM transmitter and then tuning the Lightning FM radio to an empty FM station - that's what I sometimes use for my portable XM radio, although it creates a bit of spaghetti with the wires for power, antenna and audio connection.

I use an old iTrip I bought many years ago, but this is one from Amazon:

When Apple removed the headphone jack you had to use one of these. Not sure if it will do what you are trying to do though.

I think this dongle gives the iPhone an AUX out using it's USB-C, to use with a headphone set or anything with a headphone type plug.

But since the Lightning doesn't have an AUX input jack, this would only be part of the solution.

Would also need a way to get the AUX out audio signal into the SYNC 4 system of the Lightning.

I would recommend using an FM type transmitter and the FM radio tuned to an unused station rather than a BlueTooth type trnasmitter because the SYNC 4 BlueTooth has been problematic according to many posts - drop-outs, disconnects, etc.

I tried using BlueTooth to stream from one of my MP3 players and it was terrible.

When I switched to the FM, no problems.

How's the sound on current-gen FM units? I had one of those for my clickwheel iPod (which I'd also like to be using in this truck, best 60gB playlist I ever made) and it was a little unstable back then. Worth a relook for sure.

My iTrip was fine, no interference or other issues. Used it with a portable XM radio for my 2001 Ranger. I haven't tried the newer ones.

I did try a BlueTooth connection from my iPod, my Zune and another XM radio with BlueTooth, and all had problems with the Lightning BlueTooth, drops outs, disconnects, etc.

So I pulled the old iTrip out of the closet and it worked fine in the Lightning through the FM radio.

If you live in an area with a high concentration of radio stations, some have reported it was difficult to find a station without some harmonic interference from close in FM freq. stations, but I had no problems here in Northern VA suburbs, or driving around the DC metro area.

For about $10 from Amazon, worth a try - if you have problems, return for money back is easy at Amazon.
