Yesterday I updated my iPhone 15 Pro to IOS 18.1, now when I use Pandora it's acting weird.
A few times it would show my entire Pandora station list and I could scroll down several pages through the whole list on the truck's screen, which was great, (It used to only scroll down a little before the update).
Now it's not even loading the stations, the last 4 or 5 times I've gotten into the truck, it says "error loading". But I can choose stations on my phone and it plays through the truck's speakers.
Just curious if that's happened to anyone else, and if there's a remedy?
It's also taking much longer to bring up Apple Car Play when I start the truck. It's strange, but it seems Car Scanner Pro is connecting a bit faster through Car Play.

Also, I use Google maps as I like the satellite view, I can't get a satellite view in Apple maps on the truck, is that just how it is?
I do like the battery % shown on Apple maps though.

Since updating, my sound in carplay only works about 50% of the time. its the phone for sure, but rebooting the lightning is the easiest solution without stopping

Mine's done similar to that for months. Sometimes there's no sound and the music is playing. I switch to satellite radio and there's sound but not when I switch back to the phone. Sometimes turning my Bluetooth off and back on will bring the sound back, sometimes not.

Similar issues, but I use Tune.In. I've concluded its the iphone(15 pro). Sometimes switching "channels" gets it working again, other times I go to Phone list on truck settings tab, and drop and then reconnect car play. I am using wireless car play.

Ditto here. Googled found many others having same issue with Pandora and Carplay since release iOS 18 (not just Fords). Pandora says they‘re working on it. Meantime, I find that changing tabs from “Recents” to “My Stations” will allow me to select or change stations. Also, the song artwork can still be displayed in the smaller window of “splitscreen” mode in Sync (I have Sync4 in my XLT, not Sync4A). Just illustrates how fragile the whole software house of cards actually is; “improved” new releases of iOS break things that didn’t need fixing to begin with!

Thank you, I'll try that.

I used the 18.1 beta since that dropped with no issues. Currently on beta 18.2 beta 1 and everything still seems fine. I do not use Pandora however, I use Youtube Music.

I'm laughing a bit at this thread. I am quite active on another forum for a particular camera system. Damn near every time Apple pushes out an update, lots of 3rd party stuff breaks.
For full disclosure, I have a work forced on me #$%^&* iPhone 13 with iOS 18.1 that I absolutely despise. Team Android here...

Mine's done similar to that for months. Sometimes there's no sound and the music is playing. I switch to satellite radio and there's sound but not when I switch back to the phone. Sometimes turning my Bluetooth off and back on will bring the sound back, sometimes not.
I have more info now than before. The sound isn't actually off, at least for mine, it is playing through the wrong device. It is trying to use my phone for audio but I keep the sound on it off. Carplay offers no convenient way to switch your audio source, however if I call my voicemail and switch to carplay, everything else switches to carplay and things work...

I've had the same issue with Spotify since going to IOS 18, sometimes the song will show as playing and timer counting down but nothing coming from the speakers. Stopping and starting the song (or skipping to the next) doesn't help.

In this case I normally have to hit "audio" on the truck menu then switch to FM radio (like when you switch to satellite), then try going back to Spotify, which sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.

Alternate method 1 is to then switch to CarPlay music and start something from my songs on the iPhone, then once that's going switch back to Spotify.

Alternate method 2 is to restart the phone and then it's normally fine.

It's not really convenient doing all this while driving and is a bit of a distraction, but just a different distraction from the old days where we'd need to slip a folded matchbook to the side of an 8-track tape to get it to play correctly.
