I had this same system on my 2018 and it worked flawlessly.

It is made to hold your last setting where you don't have to hit the off button but one time. If you want it back on you just hit the button again, so the function is still there. You just don't have to turn it off every time you start your truck.

Mine is a PowerBoost so it works different and don't need that.

Can’t your just hit a button and stop the autostop?
Yes, you can but you have to hit it every time you start the truck. I thought whats the big deal but I always seem to forget, till I stop for the first time.

Yes, but it defaults to on every time you start the truck. It will cause my wife stress because she would not drive the truck regularly. For piece of mind, I will be putting on an auto stop.

Save the cash and press the button on the dash after start up.

Only takes 2 seconds.
?
I’ve rented a LOT of theses with that button.
Automatic reflex when getting in.
Start car
Push button
Buckle up - (and after over 25 yrs, still hating this law.)

It was just completely automatic when I got in.

I hated it when I got the truck, but I don't even notice it now.. It is so quite you don't really notice the engine starting or turning off..
At least I dont..
I also hated it immensely when I had my 2015 F-150 with the 2.7. Then in 2018 with the 3.5 it became less of an issue for me and now that I have my 2021 it doesn’t bother me at all.

Or drive in Sport mode all the time. I know you still have to rotate a knob to get Sport mode but at least it deactivates the auto start/stop in the process.

So the power boost warranty is only 80K miles... or when ever it decides it needs replacement. I was looking at the location of the battery.. looks like you damn near have to take the truck apart to change it out! Anyone priced the battery itself yet?

Auto Start/Stop isn’t half as infuriating to me as recirculate turning off when I am right behind a diesel going up a hill or stopped at an intersection where a road is being tarred. Then right at the spot on the highway where a skunk was run over. This was all in the same day. Reading the manual, it says it’s to prevent the windows from fogging up. Huh? Never had any problems with that on my vehicles that have recirculate that stays on.

I think my battery might be weak because at a particularly long traffic light, the engine turned back on before the light turned green. My foot was on the brake the entire time.

That will also happen if your heat or air conditioning starts to weaken and also as you say a weak battery.
