I think my dealer tech is also confused. What makes this bad is the truck is setting outside of dealers shop. Why? because you can't shift it out of park. It can't detect the brake depression, so it won't do anything. In accessories mode you can get to tow mode, but after pressing that in sync, it requires to shift into neutral which you can't do. Ford will need to make a work around on that. Like after tow mode is started, the brake doesn't need to be depressed to put in neutral. Anyway their plan tomorrow is to get some dollies from body shop and try to roll it inside where they get better internet connections.
They did take your note about country code in TCU. Maybe that will help.

I wish I would have seen you post before you had the truck towed to them, but it is what it is now.
True Thanks for help to date. They gave me a 2025 Escape as a loaner, it ain't no lightning. Even with this issue, the lightning is still the best vehicle I have ever seen.

Here is an update. I called the dealer this morning. They told me they have gathered up some info and sent it off to ford. It sounds like they are stumped completely. I got the feeling they wouldn't do any more on Lightning until ford gives them something to try. Of course it is still stuck in Park. They did get it on dollies and got it inside.

Update: Dealer called me. Ford told them data from ABS module is erroneous. Then said it's time to replace ABS Module. The time to receive ABS Module is 5 days. It would take about a day to replace and checkout. Truck won't be returned until next Wednesday. Assuming the problem is resolved.

I just spoke to a Ford rep on the phone early this week who told me that the only vehicles getting BC1.4 are Lincoln Navigators. They said that NO Lightnings were getting it anytime soon.
Typical dealer service writer - guessing with TOTAL certainty - Can't use the internet or read service bulletins

Pop the little door open under the rubber mat in the shifter area. Stick the key in to unlock the shifter and move to neutral
When I get truck back I will look for this little door of which you speak. The key is the strange key I was given, that did not know what it was for?

Use the key that comes out of the fob - press the springy button on the bottom of the fob and pull the key out. That is the valet key to lock the glove box and armrest (you then give the fob bit to the valet and keep the metal key part. The metal key part also works on the drivers door lock in case the 12v battery dies so you can manually pop the hood for a jump or to put the car in neutral like I mentioned for a tow.

Are you confusing the passive key fob reader under the cup holder rubber mat?
That's to be used when your key fob battery has died, or to program new keys and create Mykeys?

As per usual @TaxmanHog is correct - I thought the little rectangle hole to the right of the bolt was a release like in ICE vehicles.

Update on status: They found a workaround for truck stuck in Park. However the parking brake also was set. Therefore they still had to put truck on car dollies to wheel back into shop. They received the new ABS Module and installed it yesterday. They can now start and move vehicle under its own power. They told me something about ford configuration management. They said ford did use each truck as it's own software configuration manager. Therefore every truck might have a slightly different configuration. When new Modules were installed, they would perhaps backward configure to match software version of Module being replaced. However that is not ford's current management plan. They now want configuration control at Ford server. I assume then that all trucks carry a common configuration to greatest extent possible. Anyway they are waiting for Ford to provide the configuration for ABS Module. I think they are also updating any Module that does not match the common configuration being pushed by ford.
The long and the short is I still don't have truck back. I will be surprised if it is done tomorrow, but I dare to dream.

I pulled up data in FDRS, one of the last things they did showed ABS module not responding. But the did have an all green self test. So that is progress. I think it showed 3 Modules that had software update available.

The good news is, your truck got OTA 10.1.1 and the BC 1.4 OTA while in the shop. The BC 1.4 OTA did not update the config for lane change and the other new features to work, but you can fix that with FORScan yourself easily when they get it back.
