Interior of the truck is not quiet compared to non-trucks (this is my first truck) so there's a big disadvantage here. I wonder if it knows the car is going over 30mph and if it adjusts for that? For acoustic jazz (Blue Note 60s) and orchestral I actually turned the bass down and that improved things. The "tone" settings is definitely weak with low/mid/high (pretty sure most people know what an equalizer is by this point). Seems like if you have 18 speakers, there should be a bit more control (5 band) and more detail on which speakers are at what volume.

I have the leashed version and think it's awful. But, about 15 minutes ago I removed the center speaker and made a world of difference.

I was really considering doing this too.
So I guess you are confirming that it works.

I could not believe the difference. Beforehand I would never had known there was any other speaker than that one in the center. It was pathetic. Now there is actually some soundstage. And there is more bass, no idea why, but I wish I had done this sooner.

I'm gonna try this the first opportunity I get.

I suspect that you altered the Soundstage enough that the human anatomy, you know, one ear on each side of our head, found an improvement in tonal separation. Especially considering the affect of a windshield in the cockpit of a truck.

We arguably are "wired" in stereo!

Well I did figure something out, I normally never use volume speed "compensation", but on this Unleashed it works, if you set to mid or high, it is like a "loudness" button and will increase the low end. Still lacks some punchy bass or let's say it's muddy, but it sounds a lot better.

Something I tried last night that helped. Do a reboot of the sound system. Press and hold the radio power and station tune up buttons for a few seconds while the truck is running. After the reboot my headrest and roof speakers were better balanced with the other speakers. I still needed to adjust the fade a bit towards the rear to tame the center speaker a bit but it’s way better now. I can hear all 18 speakers now.

I received my ‘21 platinum PB with BO unleashed last week and am most impressed (especially after seeing some hating on it such as here…). I’m coming from a 2010 that had the Sony system with the 700W sub and the BO unleashed is definitely a step up with much better bass and clarity. Maybe yours isn’t installed correctly or you're streaming low quality music?

I’m no sound engineer but the first thing I did was tune my bass and treble and set it to surround (not stereo). I am getting a wide sound stage and, like I said above, am very happy with it.
I agree, love mine...
I've owned many hi end vehicles and this has the best sounding audio out of anything I've ever owned in the past..

What cars do you have? My interior is incredibly quiet.

Mine also..
Mine says something like soundproof glass at the bottom of the windshield.
Wonder if this is an option or are they all the same glass.

My 2008 F150 with the 700W and 6in sub under the back seat was much better then my 2021 F150 PB. I have the Unleashed and was disappointed. Now I have to invest into something to make it louder with more bass.

Good Luck

IIRC, all of the higher end models come with this sound proof windshield.

New F150, Powerboost, Lariat 502A, FX4, supercrew, ordered the BO Unleashed, and I am trying to figure out what it's unleashing, because it's not high quality sound. It's pathetic. I am a former sound engineer and my previous Ford was a 17' Super Duty Platinum with the Sony system and it rocked, had a separate sub gain setting and I believe a more adjustable EQ. This thing blows, sure it's got 18 speakers, but lacks so much in sound. There is no kick bass and no way to adjust for it. I now wonder if the BO that comes with the 502A package was probably as good or better than this $695 option.
Any input from those with this garbage?

Can FORSCAN change anything?

Do you thing Ford can do software updates to help this poor ailing sound system out?

I've already commented about this extensively in another thread....as the owner of an audio shop, Fords "UNLEASHED" simply sucks and was far over hyped. For the common person it sounds great, for the rest of us who have ever had better than stock audio, we know better. The sad thing is there are several other car manufacturers who make this system sound Leashed!
Without repeating all the details again and answer your question, there is nothing you can do to 'fix' this except replace speakers, add a sub and amps to your level of happiness.
As many have mentioned also, using the different sound modes and using sources from your phone will give a bit more output but these types of band-aids should not be considered a 'fix' by any means.

Comparing to BMW X1 and Volvos. It's not bad and I'm sure for a truck is excellent, but compared to those cars I hear air /wind noise, the front of the car is less aerodynamic and the windshield is wider.
