I was reading the manual and found that blue cruise records you if there is a accident, I guess this is to protect them while you are using blue cruise. It says that is the only time blue cruise records you.

IR is what I've heard on YouTube. Maybe the recording is IR only.

Ford must have one of if not the poorest Software development teams and rollout of any industry. Add to that the exuberant pricing and its a definite no for me.

It is a nice feature but not for me at current quality and pricing levels.

It uses both. The IR is in the door. The camera is on the dash.
