Yeah, I was hoping it would be a simple asbuilt change in FORScan but it became a process that is probably outside the scope of 99% of people who should just wait until this RFA update is pushed out via OTA or available from the dealership in FDRS

Thanks for posting and the more advanced could figure it out. I used to program my Toyotas and Lexus with the OBD and the Toyota software. Might have to look at getting the Ford software as well.

Or have not invested in the tools and access to data to implement the update, like 99% I'll wait for the next update to clarify the issue.

While I was poking around in the trucks settings this evening to confirm no options to activate/configure PaaK, I found a feedback function, so I sent Ford a feedback for OTHER issues since I did not see a topic related to phone as a key, I think the report also sends a snapshot diagnostic with the report, maybe that will trigger an intervention, if not the wait is not painful, I can do without this new fangled feature for a few more weeks.

Run a network scan with FDRS tool and close and open your FordPass app and set up phone as key should appear.

We pray to the Ford gods that they get the updates back on track and ask again in 6 months.
yeah, right, I waited for a year to get BlueCruise on my '21 PowerBoost, plus two months down time in two different Ford dealerships on that single issue, never did get it before trading in on the Lightning in July. Ford doesn't do OTA. At least not routine OTA.

These are actually the kinds of things we need Sandy Munro and some of the other big guys to start reporting on. @OutofSpecKyle and @tommolog please follow up your initial reviews with how the trucks really perform and what Ford is doing to take care of the infrastructure and updates.

Ford gets glowing reports on producing the truck, but then the follow up and support and fixing items that aren't right become non existent or years to produce at best.

Ford has always been this way… come on they took the cup holder lights off this truck

Then you need FDRS to force truck to show updated software with ford servers. Any dealer can do this by you asking they do any updates on the truck.

That's what everyone on the main forum told me about the BlueCruis updates - any Ford dealer, yadda yadda. Nine updated modules, some more than once, direct Ford engineering support, lots of apologies, still no dice.

I don't have the personal time bandwidth for any more of this - this is what OTA is supposed to be about - and on my Teslas it is what it was about - I get that Ford isn't Tesla, and Tesla had a lot of issues with unmet promises, but at least when they had something ready, they rolled it out and OTA worked. The content may have been shit the first time, but it got to us.

Breathing life back to this thread. Yes, you can drive the truck with only a “backup code”. Delivered 8/30 platinum. You can set a backup code and when you access the truck using the door Pilar touch pads and access code and the truck sees no key fob or PAAK when you press the brake and start button the touchscreen comes alive and asks if you would like to use your backup code. The setup is very easy and intuitive.
I have not tried it but there is also a valet mode which I assume you program door and backup codes so you are not handing over a fob or your phone to a parking attendant / valet.
