I vouch for the A2Z Typhoon Pro adapter as well, works perfectly at every compatible supercharger. I'll be picking up another one soon for my wife's Q6 e-tron when they get access to superchargers.

There are lots of new OEM ones available on E-bay from the USA. I bought one still new in the original box from Ford. I think they got them for free in the USA so they are making a little money off them if they don't need them.

To be clear, there is Canadian-specific packaging of the Ford adapter. What's been happening is that Ford has been assembling a batch of adapters with Canadian-specific packaging, then shipping them out. They have to export them from the US (where they were received from China), then put them in Canadian-specific packaging, then ship them to Canadian customers (and now dealers). That's the delay.

appreciate you both and the Canadian company option too but these are pretty strong warnings from Ford.

So here's the reality. In the US anyway, the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act prohibits companies from denying warranty coverage based upon the use of non-OEM parts. Example - using a FRAM oil filter, which millions of people did. They have to PROVE that the use of the non-OEM item caused the warrantied part to fail.

I have the Lectron adapter, which is who manufactured the adapters for Ford. Mine looks identical to the Ford adapter, but sadly, does not have the FoMoCo logo on it anywhere. I use it occasionally, and it has never been an issue.

Ford has two adapters, one made by Tesla, one made by Lectron.

The Lectron adapter made for Ford, and the Lectron adapter they sell independently, are not the same adapter. They may look the same, but there is additional latching on the Ford-branded adapter to make it better. There are videos online that explain this.

So after calling 3 ford dealerships in Canada and asking them to order the NACS to CCS1 for me with no success I was beginning to wonder what’s up and why this adapter is such a unicorn in Canada. Got a reply from Ford Canada today (pasted below) but seems like we are not going to get them north of the border anytime soon. On to amazon for some non-official adapters I guess.

Why worry, A2Z has you covered.
Contact this Canadian Company to get your adaptor. I have 2 of their adaptors. I understand you want the one from Ford, as promised, but at this point, as you know, things are kinda ugly south of the border, especially when you dealing with Tesla provided adaptors or the Lectron ones which are made in CHINA.
Conundrum it is so order the one from Canada. It is a fine product and it works. Good luck.

Take a look at the SuperTap from builders of the original TeslaTap.
They were a little late bringing them to market, but they made sure that the product was 100% before releasing at SEMA last year.
They are out of Goleta California in the US and ship to Canada all of the time.

As far as I know their adapter has not had any need for recalls as they made sure that all of the issues that the other brands had were dealt with before releasing.
TeslaTap is the highest rated AC charging adapter on the market. Thay cost more but worth every cent.

To be clear, A2Z's recall on the original Typhoon adapter (not the newer Typhoon Pro) was forced on them by Tesla. They vigorously disagreed that there was any issue with the product, but Tesla forced them to do the recall with the NHTSA.

On the other hand, Ford has a lot of lawyers. The "recall" of the June shipments of Ford's Tesla-produced adapter was not a recall due to the team of lawyers.

Lectron did have a recall of their initial product also.

All the adapters have their parts produced in CHINA. The assembly of the final product differs for some of them.

No issues with A2Z (updated version) for me so far. I would recommend it as well. But at the end of the day it is your choice and your $.

And you'll end up like me; day after you get the A2Z, the Ford one ships.

Oh well, now I have a spare.

I bought a Lectron Vortex last summer after hearing the official ones from Ford were delayed; love it!

I purchased a SuperTap from TeslaTap and then sold the Ford one once I received it.
The SuperTap seemed to be better quality than the Ford product made in China.
