Last week we were in a pinch and needed to DC fast charge. We tried two different stations but couldn't get anything at either one. One of the stations worked just fine the day before so I chalked it up to bad luck and a system update at one of the chargers. I did get Charge Station Fault - See Manual come up on the center console but didn't think much of it.

Fast forward to today, we get Charge Station Fault - See Manual again at home while charging on the Ford Mobile Charger (which we have used since day one). The truck did charge correctly though overnight which adds to the confusion.

I'm going to be putting the scanner on the truck tonight to see if there are any codes stored. Has anybody else ran into this issue? I'd hate to be stranded on a trip and not able to DC fast charge. Looking for some insight before booking an appointment at the dealer.

I had a dozen charge faults on our recent trip, but it was transient communication errors (either truck or their network). Haven’t had one on the home charger yet.

Tried DC fast charging last night just to see, still getting a charger fault and no current flow. The trucks going in tomorrow AM, hopefully they can find something and resolve it quickly.

Dealer found a bad charge port, they're in the process of changing that out. Hopefully that's the fix, I was surprised how quick they came at that conclusion. Bad news is the new light bar they ordered was damaged in shipping 😩

I'll update the thread once I get the truck back and confirm the repair.

See if the tech can describe what happened with the port, I'm wondering if the switch/lock actuator broke.

I wasn't able to talk to the Tech as I was late picking the truck up. Looking at the charge port it doesn't look like there are any new parts. However, according to the work order they replaced LC9Z-10D737-A per TSB 23-2014. I found a post on a Mach-E which describes the part as the lock actuator on the charge port that is only used for DC Fast charging. It's typically damaged when the charging cord is removed too quickly.

Moral of the story, take your time when removing the charge cord!

Good to know! It looks like this failure has happened to others as well. Not major but could leave you stranded. I will be talking to my service people about it next time I'm in.

Awesome to know, I always listen for the de-latching sound after pressing the button on the handle at DCFC stations, then pull it evenly out of the port (no twisting / upward / downward angular force)
