Hi everyone,

I purchased my Lightning Lariat just over a month ago and LOVE it. Best vehicle I have ever owned or driven.

I have noticed now twice that I have set the charge level to be 80% and saved it. This would "stick" for a week or so. Then I would notice that when I charge it over night that it would go to 100% and the setting was no longer at 80%. I have not correlated this to a SW update happing. This set it, works for a while, then back to 100% has happened twice.

Do others have this happen? I am currently using the portable charging cable connected via an adapter to my dryer 220 outlet.

Hopefully you're using the locations based charging profile and parking in the same spot with each session.

When you created the scheme [HOME] are you using the charging app on the Sync screen in the truck, or via Fordpass?

Not that it should make a difference for charge limit but you need a 40a circuit for the 32a mobile cord. Dryer is usually 30a so you're in the danger zone of causing wiring problems.

I am using the screen in the truck. I only charge in the same spot. I don't recall creating a scheme, just setting the charge limit in the truck.

Thanks!

Thank you for the heads up. I do have a 30A breaker for the dryer. This is a temporary solution.

I am waiting for some solar work to get completed and then will be getting my Ford Pro Charger that I got for free installed. The "free" install is just for the basic install (adding a breaker and mounting the box it seems). The company Qmert picked for my project put an additional $1500 into the quote for a load management device since I only have 100A service from PG&E. It would be about $10k to upgrade to 200A as my power is underground and next to my gas line, which is no longer to code. Load management device sounds like a winner!! :)

You need to save a charging location for it to be persistent. I think you are setting a “One time charge limit,” which is exactly what it is!

Same thing happens to me. If I want to start charging outside of the hours I configured for my home charger location, it will change the desired % I have configured from whatever it's set to to 100% when I touch the start button. This is on the main energy page in the app.

Very frustrating.

DO NOT touch the START button, if you need to change the time period, edit the conditions before plugging in.

After creating a location for my home and setting the charge level to 80% it has worked the two times I have charge. Thanks for pointing out that was required.

On a side note, I used a Tesla Super Charger and it is great! Went from 53% to 85% in 26 min, I forgot to set the charge limit to 80% and got charge extra.
