All you need is one of the recent couple of million that Tesla built. I can control the amperage from anywhere in the world right on my phone app.
Thats cool. Both the Kia's I have driven don't support it.

Yep exactly. Works like a champ on the Tesla. I am thinking a lot about the Tesla Powerwall in the basement; you can control when/how/if the EV chargers are engaged when running off-grid due to an outage. There is zero insight into the Siemens/Ford Charger Pro capabilities. Also, the tesla wall chargers can balance between two of them within the app, so it might be better to install another wall charger with a converter for the Ford.

157 mile range at 100% and 5kWh/7miles..
There is a bug in the software where it will keep the trailer connected even if it detects at the trailer is not connected to the rear. I manually forced it and the new range appeared. Sorta like the BlueCruise stays enabled even if the trailer connector is plugged in.

Does the Lightning lock the adapter to the car? Or can anyone come by and disconnect and take the adapter while you're charging?

$300? Are you kidding me? It is just an adaptor. Why not buy a J1772 charger?
You take the adapter with you so you can use Tesla destination chargers elsewhere.

I plan to use a TeslaTap with my Tesla UMC to charge the Lightning. The Tesla UMC has a lot of adapters to work with various receptacles and will limit the current to the vehicle, like when I plug it into a 14-30 or 6-20, the EVSE will only provide 24 or 16 amps, respectively.

I will just by the $149 one. It is rated as 48A and would work as 48A ADAPTOR.

You are using a 48amp Lectron adapter. It supports 48amps of maximum current. It may, or may not, be designed to support 48amps of continuous current.

Many vehicles can't request more than 48amps. For example, the Mach-E maxes out at 48amps. The maker of the Tesla Tap recommends that for continuous power of 48amps, you buy the 60amp Tesla Tap.

The F-150 lightning can pull at least 80amps, based upon the charger they sell with the high end models. That means that IF the EVSE you are using is capable of supplying more than 48amps, it in fact will. And you should be using a bigger adapter if it is in fact capable of supplying more than 48amps. And based upon Tesla Tap owner's recommendation, if your EVSE is supplying 48amps you should also use a 60amp adapter.

Also, with the Tesla tap, you are advised to connect the tap to the EVSE first, wait 30 seconds, then plug it into the vehicle. Your first picture shows just the adapter plugged in.
I found this article on TeslaTap’s website

You pull up to a hotel with your truck. They have two chargers - one Tesla, one J1772. Unfortunately, the J1772 is either occupied or broken. You put the TeslaTap in the Tesla charger plug, then plug it into the truck, and it starts charging.

This happened to me, but I had no TeslaTap. The J1772 charger was broken. We switched hotels, from a nearly new Hampton (very nice one) to a shitbox Fairfield Inn that was maybe 25 feet from the freeway and smelled like a damp basement. I bought a TeslaTap soon after.

The owner of the company said that for the Mach-E, which can pull a continuous 48amps, to buy the 60amp mini.

Let's examine what that says.

First, it says that the EVSE tells the car which it can provide.
So, that stops the car from pulling too much and blowing a breaker.

So, the truck can take 80.
Let's say the charger can supply 60. It tells the truck to pull 60.
But the adapter can only take 48.
You have a melted adapter....
Rick, not debating your point…just forwarding the information….🤓

Adaptor is not breaker. It does not have a 80% rule.
