Is this to prevent your frunk from opening accidently if something hits it? I can tell you it will not open all the way while driving.
I never pull the hood release on the dash of my minivan on the freeway. I know it won't open, it just unlatches the first latch. I don't want that to happen. Why would anyone want it to? Truly not trying to sound unreasonable, but if it is so easy to prevent, I'm going to.

This is the button INSIDE the frunk. It's just a push button.

Inside the cab of the truck, if you press the frunk button while in gear it won't open.

Why are you beating this to death? I want it, I'm going to get it. Okay? Sheesh.
What are we beating to death? I'm explaining how the frunk button works since you don't have your truck yet...

I know this because we were driving home after stopping to get food. And a warning popped up about my frunk release. So we had to pull over and re-set it. I had to open the frunk and close it.
I'm actually surprised that this seems to be a relatively common issue. The Mach-E has a similar release button...are there reports of this happening with that model?

I guess so. I thought i was the only one but i guess it's common enough someone made this thread:) and he doesn't even own the truck yet he's just heard stories so far.

But yeah happened to me the other day. Like I said, i guess the stroller hit the button since it wasn't resting properly and we got a warning on the dash.

I mean it DOES make sense if you think about it, it HAS to allow it to open. But you'd think it might be protected more somehow or out of the way?

One other precaution which will help secure the cargo is offered as an accesory by Ford. It's a F-150 Lightning Frunk Cargo area Protector. Cargo should be restrained properly in the Frunk or th rear bed. Cargo straps, cable, chains etc are always a great item to have in the vehicle.

I think she'll be able to see the button from inside the closed trunk because it glows in the dark. Duct tape...

My guess is the kids stroller hit the release button as we pulled away from shifting, but it doesn't OPEN the frunk while driving. I think it just releases it and you can push up on the frunk but it won't open it by itself. So you're still okay

I think the simplest solution would be a piece of hard clear plastic over top of the button. I found 2 items on Amazon that might work. I will order one and test it out.

Plastic badge holder that can be held in place with thick double sided tape

Or a cover with magnetic anchors.

Here is a quick shot at something way too complicated but fun to prototype.

2 modes: lid cover with swing door for access or lid off (stowed upside down)

I'm still about 3 weeks out from the Truck so when it gets here I'll probably refine and beautify/round out the design a little better. Also will likely need to upgrade to a clear abs

Unnecessary. Cannot open secondary latch at speed.
It’s only necessary if you want a properly designed solution instead of a “technically meets the spec” solution.

Go down to Home Depot, they usually have several different clear outlet covers in stock.
