Dealer asking to provide service on My lightning

I received the following email from the dealer regarding service on my lightning:

Hi

This is xxxxxx from xxxxxx Ford. I'm reaching out because it looks like your F-150 is due for the Ford EcoBoost Fuel Induction Service, which we recommend you have done at every other oil change to help maintain peak performance.

The service removes carbon deposits and contaminants from key engine components like the fuel injectors, intake valves, throttle body, and intake manifold.

Our expert technicians are ready to perform this service and get your EcoBoost engine running like new again!

When would you like to come in ?

I Sent the following response:

Dear:

Thank you for your concern about the service on my F150 Lightning. However it does not have fuel injection, it does not use fuel, nor does it have oil changes because it does not have an internal combustion engine, either diesel or gasoline. Therefore it does not have carbon deposit or other engine contaminants. It also does not have fuel injectors, valves, throttle body or an intake manifold. Your technicians would be unable to keep my EcoBoost Engine running like new because my F150 does not have an engine it has electric motors and batteries.

Hope fully someone at the dealer will actually read and understand that these generic service offerings do not apply to EVs and will address EV service as it should be .

To be fair, the service they are offering is equally as useful to an EcoBoost as it is to a Lightning.

This true but at least they could tailored the their snake oil pitch to an EV. Some thing like "We will tune your battery for optimal performance and best motor efficiency."

I never get anything like that from my dealer. Maybe they don't offer those extras in Canada?

Nope. This is the only truck I have bought new form a dealer. I don't generally have any one but myself work on my cars. I have been building and restoring cars and trucks for over 5 decade. I find it cheaper to buy tools than to pay some to work on my vehicles.

My last truck was a 1993 F250 4x4. Drove it for 20 years. Sold it to the neighbor when I bought the Lightning. Still running strong.

Keep hoping.

Since having my Focus Electric since November 2017, I continue to get these "reminders". Additionally, when I did take it in for the recommended service checks (I had the maintenance plan that covered these for the first 120,000 km), I would ask what the service involved each time even though I already knew. Each time, oil and filter change was included.

When I brought my Lightning in for the battery module replacement, with a straight face they suggested an oil change. I said: "Nice try"

Well, all I can say is when I brought my Lightning for its 10K service and said I was there for my 10K oil, filter and lube (same language I used with the pediatrician when I took my kids in for their annual physicals), the SA just looked at me with a puzzled expression and proceeded to tell me with a serious look could not do that because my truck was electric.
