Yes, finance will take care of it and have you fill out the form. For me it just offset the cost of the supposed exterior/interior protection. Also, don’t forget about your $500 deposit. I did, but they will be sending me a check.@F150ROD did Kearny Mesa ever figure out how to do the $750 Clean Fuel rebate? Eric (one of the Lightning sales team) assured me the dealer isn't involved.
Me neither, but at that point they know you can’t say no unless you are ok gifting them another $10–$30k by not taking the truck.Thank you, @F150ROD that relieves a little stress. Of course them adding the protection package after promising they would add "no dealer options the customer must pay for" hurts. They (car dealers) just cannot help but be dishonest. I truly don't understand.
Did they remember your $100 reservation deposit? I'm $600 in. "Honest mistakes" happen about as easy as overpriced the phony magic protection treatments. Also, don’t forget about your $500 deposit. I did, but they will be sending me a check.
My $100 was refunded when I moved my reservation prior to ordering. The $500 was really my fault for not paying attention. But after calling them they had no problem giving it back, who knows how long the check will take though.Did they remember your $100 reservation deposit? I'm $600 in. I had no protection/ alarm package, I think the General Manager had already said that was a no-go.Hey Rod,
Very interested cause KM is one of the dealers I'm looking to with what should be a pretty soon 2023 invite. KM hit me with a $2900 protection/alarm add on in December for a Mach-E. What did they try to add to start and what did the $750 actually consist of ? Thanks for any info
Cheers,Scott
Thanks...Scotch guard was what they called interior protection back when. $2 dollars a can. Kinda like the teflon protection GM used to charge $500 for that I bought for $25....Oh Well...I'll bring bear spray when I head to finance LOL. CheersI had no protection/ alarm package, I think the General Manager had already said that was a no-go.
The $750 was interior protection, who’s knows what that is since the Truck still has residue from the plastic everywhere, and apparently some exterior ceramic coating, which again was probably not applied since the exterior isn’t even properly detailed. I had no argument against the $750 since I can’t physically verify to make sure it was done. Ceramic takes a while so I guess the could have done it the day before? Anyway,
my cost after the Fuel Rebate was $45 so whatever.
The sales team was great but we all know nothing happens until you get to finance.
Wow, I just returned from my dealer to get the railcar number and the sales manager said they do not add on any dealer add ons which made me feel good but again, it's F&I that will try to get you for something. There was no ADM, there was a dealer add-on that I tried to dispute which in the end cost me $795. 3 hours with my own financing.
Online Sales/Salesman were awesome
Financing is a different story.
Pretty much Tesla does it the way it’s supposed to be. Even with my years of buying Ford it made no difference in dealing with financing. At the end of the day it was another exhausting experience when it should have been in and out. I’ll write more about my gripes. For the most part it was great but not what the internet says.
Yeah, I think it’s important to really have a paper signed by both parties including sales manager and Finance. “Protection Packages” that you cannot see are hard to argue and with a Truck in demand like this it’s not worth not taking delivery.Wow, I just returned from my dealer to get the railcar number and the sales manager said they do not add on any dealer add ons which made feel good but again, it's F&I that will try to get you for something.
I did check on their demo underneath and there are those blue plastic parts that you mentioned.
I only have the signed buyer's order - hoping that's all but this dealer is very cool I chatted with sales manager who printed out my railcar # for an hour.Yeah, I think it’s important to really have a paper signed by both parties including sales manager and Finance. “Protection Packages” that you cannot see are hard to argue and with a Truck in demand like this it’s not worth not taking delivery.
They couldn’t match Navy Feds rate of 2.74 for 72, but they did give me a secondary contract with an 8.99 rate just in case something went “wrong” with Navy Fed FinancingI only have the signed buyer's order - hoping that's all but this dealer is very cool I chatted with sales manager who printed out my railcar # for an hour.
Did the dealership try to better your financing you had already ?
Very good to know about having your financing ready. They couldn’t match Navy Feds rate of 2.74 for 72, but they did give me a secondary contract with an 8.99 rate just in case something went “wrong” with Navy Fed Financing
They said rates are incredibly high right now lol
