I got it as well. Sounds like they've improved the estimation. Porsche's Intelligent Range Management that does the same thing is a pricey option add-on. Glad to see Ford just offer it to improve customer experience.

I got this as well. My last two charges with my SR have shown that at 90% I have 235 mile range. Which would put my 100% at about 260 miles.

It seems like this is talking about the (existing feature) where when you have a nav route in the Ford navigation, it revises the guess-o-meter to reflect the route?

Perhaps they made that more accurate via the cloud, as the last time I tried it, it did not correctly adjust for going up and down a 6000ft mountain range and was off by 30 percentage points in either direction.

It kind of sucks that the Ford nav can’t run in the background. I don’t like its routing compared to Apple/Google maps via carplay and it really only allows running one navigation app at a time.

That’s exactly the case…it’s a server-side change to the algorithm. Note the phrase ”When compared to in-vehicle range calculation…”

So it will be in effect for all of us - no need for any vehicle update. But it will require using the Ford navigation app to be effective.

I received the same update. I hope the new update takes into account external temperature and driving speed regardless if you are using the built in navigation.
