I would assume the market for folks who want a cybertruck is quite small at this point. The dealership near me had at least 20 on the lot.

The venn diagram of people who can afford one and people who like them is small and I would think most in that subset have one already.
They would sell a lot more of them if they cost anywhere near the $39,999 that musk promised at introduction back in 2018. (I think it was 2018?)

Historical 5 Tesla owner (S,S,S,X,Y) dating back to 2012 and CyberBeast reservation holder (cancelled both that I had).
Bought a Ford Lightning Platinum for me and Model X for the wife:
Why did Ford exceed sales?
2. CarPlay with in dash Waze, hell last night I was able to use a on screen police scanner when my neighbors house had several cops there (you can't do that in a Tesla)
4. Potential for $10K to $20K price reduction depending on the model you bought
5. 1000's of aftermarket add-ons built for Ford F-150
6. Interior is gorgeous
8. Frunk that is cavernous
9. Ride is super quiet and this truck is fast for a 8600 lbs GVWR.
11. BUTTONS and STALKS and a VOLUME KNOB!!!!!!!
12. 14 cup holders
13. Desktop table in center console
16. Clandestine EV, verses CT "statement", I would be OK with the statement if it met all the design goals (500 mile range etc), but it didn't.
17. Plan to pickup a CT used for $35K in a year or so.
I removed all the factors that didn't apply to me. And to add:

It was the cheapest larger-ish EV you could buy period in December 2024, I know, I cross shopped all the options. I'm in for less than $300/mo on this XLT lease. I absolutely could not find another larger EV this cheap. Granted it's a low mileage lease, but I don't drive a lot. But when I do need to drive, I love driving this truck.

But there are a lot of things I love about this truck, that I didn't expect to love coming into it. I just wanted a good price on an EV that was comfortable for me, since my old Navigator chucked it's transmission, and I wasn't going to do another ICE. I got more than I expected.

You really can't overstate the fact that this looks like a regular truck and does regular truck things. It's really useful. And the cab is huge, perfect for big bubbas like me - 6'7" 300ish. I drove econoboxes for 30 years but I'm done with all that. I need for my neck and back not to hurt when driving.

I'm thinking already about what's next and I'd love to get a 22 or 23 Lariat used when this lease is up. Lariat, because I wish it had BlueCruise like our Mach-E.
