I have a F-150 Lariat Powerboost, and it is wearing the outside tread on the front tires. Bought it new and by 5,000 miles the outsides were worn down. Had the alignment checked and everything was fine. Rotated the tires, and only 2,000 miles on them and same thing. The outsides are wearing again. Had the alignment again, Ford says it’s all ok. At this rate going to have to get new tires at 10,000 miles. Anyone else having the same issues?

Got a picture of the tread. It would help understand. If the tread in the middle of the tire is not wearing, and the outsides both are, thats typically under inflation issues. If only 1 outside edge, then it would point to a camber issue.

What tire pressure are you running?

I’m hoping my powerboost tires wear out quickly so I can justify my new rims/tires sooner rather than later. Which wheel and tire combo do you have? I have the standard latiat 18” and the Goodyear wranglers are absolute garbage!

The wear pattern is like what is shown in the picture for Toe. It’s wearing the outside edge only, and only on the front. I’ll have to get a picture of it in the morning.

I have the 18’’ Dynapro AT2 tires, not the Goodyear.

FWIW, I have over 15 F-150’s in my fleet at work, and they ALL do this. Years range from 2012-2020 and is usually noticed between 5-7K miles. Very annoying to be honest.

I don't know if this will help. the fault prob isn't with the tire.

Update: I finally got it into the dealership, and they told me the alignment was spot on. The issue is when people are in the truck, which is always the case while driving, the alignment can then get “out of alignment”. I kid you not, this is what I am being told. They want me to come in and sit in the truck while they redo the alignment.

Having some auto ship training, I can see some truth to this, especially with the front tires. As payload increases, squat changes, which could change camber changes. But I don't think it should be that sensitive to just one person throwing it off.

Theres a few places local to me that do free alignment checks. May be good to look for one of those for a second opinion check. There are alot of different types of alignment machines, and some connections to the tire don't give as accurate of readings, IMO.

I’m having the exact same issue. I have 2021 Lariat Hybrid with 20” rims and those same Hankooks. Only 8000 miles. Tons of wear on outside.
