Hello, I have bought 2023 F150 Lightning Lariat off an Auction from the USA and imported it to the MIDDLE EAST
I am facing a couple of issues here

1- The modem of the vehicle is not working properly and it hasn't been updated since april 2023 ( as Ford customer service told me)
They recommended that I take the vehicle to a dealership to have the PCU Reset to get the modem back running but there are no dealerships that are specialized for EV's around me also This is causing Ford Pass to not function too as I cannot pair the vehicle to my phone

Is there a way to update the vehicle using a laptop?

this thread is suggesting FDRS to update the vehicle will that work on my lightning?

2-Also the navigation maps are NA based and I am trying to download the Middle East maps on the car and reprogram the region
is there a possible way?

Regarding issue 1, I had the same problem with my brand new car. It was just fixed this week after two months of hassle. I can tell you that in my case they replaced the modem completely under warranty at the dealership. In your case it sounds like you may have to do it yourself. So assuming you have the same problem, it's not a software issue but rather hardware.

Oh appreciate your response!
You were facing what problems exactly? as for me I am trying to reset factory settings to clear the previus owner, reset completes but nothing happens on fordpass

then I might have to purchase a new modem and replace the one in my car
But it would be very convenient to update the modem using FDRS rather than replace it

1) The modem works on the AT&T network in the US and Canada. It will not work in the Middle East, and you cannot change the SIM card. You will never get OTA updates, nor will any of the connected services ever work. FordPass will never work either. That's my understanding from others looking into this.

Yes, vehicles can be updated with FDRS. Requires a cable, a power supply, a laptop, and the software. FDRS works with Ford's cloud, so can FDRS work in the Middle East? Yes, I believe it can. Can it work on a US vehicle? Don't know.

2) You cannot.

I guess I should try updating the vehicle and see where that leads, as for updating using FDRS, power supply connected to the Low Voltage battery? and the car should have a decent amount of charge?

as for the navigation and maps, SYNC3 can be switched from NA to ME, SYNC 4 method might be not found just yet.

Appreciate your response!

You should not just try. If you apply an update that isn't for your vehicle (don't know if that's possible with FDRS), or you apply it incorrectly, you can brick the vehicle and make it undriveable.
